Initially, I booked only one night at Mercure Vientiane through Expedia after an exhausting research on the internet. I wanted to make sure it was the right hotel for us before extending our stay there for the next 2 nights. I must say that the hotel was excellent on all counts. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, the room... More

Not the best location but everything else was fine. Lovely staff with only one exception-a staff member in the restaurant. She wasn't rude or disrespectful-just not as smiling and friendly as the others. Rooms large and nicely appointed but street noise made sleep difficult. Pool area lovelu and not affected by the aforementioned street noise. Tax put on drinks that... More

Vientiane is not frequented by many tourists and this hotel will no doubt improve its performance and condition as the industry evolves. Considering that, the visit cannot be faulted for the attention and service of the staff. The room was suitable for our purpose being equipped with mini-bar, safe, satellite t.v. and coffee/tea making facilities. It is located a little... More

All staff were pleasant, eager to help and extremely polite as are most Laotians.Rooms were large and clean everything needed for a short stay. Location is convenient and just 5 minutes drive to airport. Great choices for breakfast both Asian and Western. All in all not my best " Mercure experience".

Stayed for almost a week here during my work trip to NUOL. Room is big and clean. TV channels are boring. Within walking distance to the night market by the Mekong River. No breakfast included, maybe it's our agent's fault during booking.

I stayed at the Mercure Vientiane hotel in early December 2013 for 1 night whilst visiting the city on the sixth stage of my 21-day 'Grand Tour of Indochina' holiday operated by Voyages Jules Verne. I found this small hotel to be tidy enough but it did fall-down in quality in more areas than all the other hotels we stayed... More

We did notstay at the hotel but did go to their cafe /Restaurant twice for dinner. On both occasions we selected the buffet. A wide selection of cold and hot dishes, salads , dim sum, soups as well as cook -to-order selections. Well prepared and tasty food from Lao, Asia and some western influences. The staff were the best we... More

Mercure Vientiane (formerly Novotel) - both part of the Accor Group - is branded as a 4-star property, but there are some serious problems that need to be fixed before it would get more than an "average" from me here. Indeed, were it not for a genuine effort on the part of the manager to fix an inexcusable problem, I... More

Not a modern hotel, but clean, safe, a great breakfast buffet and walking distance to town. A very comfortable stopover if you are going on in Laos. The staff are nice, but don't go out of their way with sightseeing suggestions. Recommend you take a Tuk-Tuk from the hotel to shopping or airport rather than the hotel transport.
