Not a modern hotel, but clean, safe, a great breakfast buffet and walking distance to town. A very comfortable stopover if you are going on in Laos. The staff are nice, but don't go out of their way with sightseeing suggestions. Recommend you take a Tuk-Tuk from the hotel to shopping or airport rather than the hotel transport.

Located less than 20 mins away from the airport, the hotel is well accessible from the airport. Formerly a Novotel which has been "downgraded" to Mercure but it still keeps its charm and set itself apart from the rest of those modern high rise hotels. From check in, we can tell that the staff tried their best to accommodate us... More

The Mercure seems, when looked at online, to be a very nice option. However, it's really just a very average hotel when you see it in person. The rooms are quite dated and not terribly clean either. The pool is a highlight. It has a black bottom and an infinity edge, so that's nice. Frankly, while I was in Vientiane... More

The hotel looks a lot nicer outside than it really is. The corridors are very dark with extremely dirty and shabby carpet. The bed in our room was hard as a rock, incredibly uncomfortable! The air-conditioner was extremely noisy and not very efficient. In the middle of the night it started making loud bangs and water poured out of it... More

Stayed here for one night as part of a tour. Location was not good. Out of Town, glad I was there with a tour. Maybe the lift not working did not help my feelings of the hotel. Bell boys certainly earned their $! The room was clean and comfy bed, plumbing left a lot to be desired! Bathroom needed a... More

Pretty standard chain hotel, just outside city centre. Room nice, bathroom could do with facelift but functional. Pool is brilliant, good size for 'proper' swimming, gym looked reasonable but I didn't get to use it. Had lunch in pool bar, good food, well presented, breakfast was pretty good . Bar, in lobby, nice for a drink before retiring to our... More

Even I stayed just one night, the rooms are clean, the staff is very hepful and nice. Breakfast was very good and the coffee was delicius. They have two stores with amazing stuff made in Laos, and the price is good too. The girls who worked at store are very nice.

Friendly and helpful staff, but this hotel is looking a bit tired in real life. It was the Novotel - and most people in vte still seem to call it that. In reality it's a big impersonal hotel that wouldn't be out of place at an airport. At a very busy junction so I expect rooms at front get some... More
