Having cycled through Laos' dusty roads & a mixed bag of accommodation we were looking for somewhere a bit nicer for Christmas & found this little spot just the ticket. Clean, friendly staff & well situated with a cafe in the lobby. The small complimentary breakfast isn't anything to write home about but there's a multitude of bakeries within 3mins... More

Avoid room 222. The balcony has 4 A/C compressors. Each make a noise. Fortunately they don't cavitate. By positioning my supine bulk I could locate a standing wave where the vibrations cancelled out and the sound dropped a good 20dB.

Laos regresses backwards every-time I visit. The prices climb continuously ever higher while the standards get lower and the hotels remain in a state terminal decline. The ihouse hotel is no different. The mattress sags in the middle, a strong smell of damp overpowers the nostrils on entry to the room. Another annoying aspect is that unlike the rest of... More

I stayed at iHouse for 3 nights. It was a great place to stay. The staff were friendly and the location was perfect. Close to many many cafes, bakeries, restaurants and walking distance to the market and river side. They have complimentary bottled water daily. There is also a cafe in the lobby of the hotel. They recently renovated. Nothing... More

I had a terrible wake up at my last morning in Laos. A staff member entered my room and touched me under the sleeve near my hips, around 6AM. I was in shock and screemed very loud and the whole hotel was awake. I run after him for a while. Guests from the hotel took care of me. Then I... More

No window, good air conditioning, decent shower (that wets everything in the en-suite). It is right in the middle of town. Biggest down for me is size – a bit small, although a big bed (a bit hard and odd springs). Clean everything, sheets a bit ripped. After 2 nights very noisy at 7am – music and in the stair... More

We bookedbour room through an agency and were supposed to have a twin room, instead we were given a very small dank and dark double room with one plug socket and a blanket that didn't fit the bed properly. Also, no tea or coffee was included in the price which we kind of expected to have for what we Paid..... More

The staff were friendly, the room clean, the location is fabulous. Close to the night market, fountain and lots of fabulous restaurants. The room however was so small every time I walked into the room I hit my leg on the wooden bed frame. There was no window so the room was always dark and felt quite claustrophobic. It was... More

The room was cheap, but the room was dark and dank. Sheets and towels had seen better days. Service was erratic, depending on the staff. Some were really helpful, others not. While I was there, building work was taking place which blocked reception. I think you could find better for a similar price.

The hotel is pretty basic. We paid 18usd for 1 night included breakfast. The second and last morning we wanted the breakfast but we had no choice, there was no menu card. You only got 1 thing and thats a little bit egg with 3 very little slices of a baguette. Every night the hotel closed at 23:00 / 24:00... More
