Stayed here a week on business this past November. Great: -Quiet -Friendly staff -Central location Good: -Breakfast (better than Lao Plaza) -Housekeeping -Shower stall Meh: -Room size and furnishings -Rock hard beds -Shower water temperature at peak times (cold) All in all a good stay & I would be back.

This is a pleasant hotel with an excellent location. It is close to many of the beautiful temples in Vientiane and walking distance to other important sites. They also have bicycles for the residents. I had a lovely room just across one of the main temples and made the effort to get up to see the giving of alms ceremony.... More

Booked the Salana Boutique Hotel because of its wonderful reviews. I was disappointed with what it turned out to be. The airport pick-up ordered was fine, the check-in just standard. The room - even though the booking was for a slightly larger one - was quite small. All amenities okay, but for the quite high price for a hotel of... More

Nice hotel in a excellent location. Good breakfast with local an international options. Best part of the hotel is that you are right outside a large temple to witness first hand the feeding of the monks at 5am .. Well worth the effort to witness this .. Can recommend this hotel as clean , well priced with friendly staff ..

The hotel is very well located and beautifully designed. The staff is friendly and helpful. Our room was quite nice and bery clean. The only negative of our experience is the music from the temple across the street did wake us up earlier than we wanted.

I really enjoyed my stay in Vientiane and much of that was down to Salana hotel. It's in a good location - meters from some fantastic places to eat (try Makphet and Lao kitchen - two of my favourite meals). The rooms are lovely. Wooden floors, decent bathroom facilities and decorated with traditional Lao prints for curtains etc. air con,... More

We arrived in Vientiane and were looking for a nice place to stay. After walking into several different hotels, we decided to go with the Salana Boutique Hotel located in the heart of the city. The front desk staff was absolutely phenomenal especially Orlaphan and Bounma. They went above and beyond to ensure that our stay there was an amazing... More

the Salana is good in ever respect. the location is great, service is good, its clean and the buffet breakfast is fine. however there are somethings that prevent us from raving about it as we did our hotels in VV and LP. primarily i think my following critiques are only in response to the salana's every effort to let guests... The Salana is the best city hotel we have ever stayed in (and there have been dozens). It is located in the old part of Vientiane a short block from the river and close to dozens of restaurants and bars. At night, a market sets up on the riverside so it is easy to do some shopping, take your purchases... More
