Last hotel during our group tour in Laos. Good location, 150 meters from river bank boulevard and night market. Very bright and clean looking. Different pavilions with approx. 12 rooms in every pavilion (3 stories high) around the garden and the empty ! swimming pool. No elevators (!) Room was quite spacious, well lighted, bathroom well equipped, large rain-shower with... More

Ansara Hotel is situated in the city centre. This means on walking distance of the temples and easy to find (on your way back home). Moreover the Mekong River is very nearby, as well as the Night Market. Our room was o.k., containing everything we needed. Staff were friendly and their English was very good. Twice we had dinner in... More

We had quite a rough trip before reaching Vientiane, including delayed flights, night spent in transit hotel, lost luggage... and when we reached our rooms, it was really close to magic. The rooms are so comfortable ! We were lucky to get a huge room with all details, and we really regretted not to spend more time in Ansara. Staff... More

After being spoiled with top class hotels in Louangphrabang, Pak Beng and Vang Vieng this hotel is rather disappointing. Breakfast was stale and had probably been standing in room temperature a couple of days. Wifi Internet didn't work most of the time. And when it did work it was slow. Outside, in the yard is a busy construction site. Once... More

Ansara is a small – 14 rooms - well maintained hotel in the centre of Vientiane, close to the Mekong River and the night market. The staff is extremely friendly and effective. Only the English language at the front desk is not always good understandable. The rooms are small, good equipped and convenient with a tiny terrace. WiFi is included.... More

As mentioned in the previous review, there are currently building works going on at this hotel including a new pool and a new block of rooms. The works were during the day and are very noisy so it means that you cannot enjoy the nice balcony and relax during the day. This is temporary but we didn't know about the... More

If we had received warning of the building work going on here we would have stayed elsewhere. They are building a large new wing and a swimming pool. The garden is small, and will be even smaller once the work is completed, although to be in the hub of Vientiane ,close to the river and good restaurants, and have a pool will... Positives: - Beautiful pseudo-colonial main building - nicely decorated interiors - good and helpful service - I guess the pool will be nice in the future - great location (try Makphet restaurant behind the corner employing former street kids, or Katanaey for cheap but incredibly tasty food) - the manager makes the effort to speak to guests and shows care... Perfect location. This hotel has large rooms but nice as new as other hotels. When we were there construction was taking place. Breakfast was great. Only a short walk to the river. Great place to stay.
