I have stayed here several times, the last in December 2014 & the thing that I like is that the service & rooms are consistantly good. Breakfast is in the central courtyard or in the lounge and is served rather than a buffet. Bathrooms are good & the water hot. The staff speak good English & always appreciate if you... More

Nice place: well located, good large rooms in colonial style, kind staff, plain breakfast (they could improve it!), good value for money. What can you ask for more in Vientiane? We really suggest to spend your night there.

Stayed for a couple on nights and loved it - lovely boutique room, friendly and helpful staff, excellent breakfasts, fabulous bed and strong wifi. Would definitely stay again. My room was on the first floor which was good as there was no lift (although staff magically appeared when I needed to carry my bags). One recommendation, ask for a room... More

Hotel Khamvongsa is in the heart of the old part of Vientiane, and a very convenient walk or short tuk tuk ride to most sites and shopping, entertainment and good eats. This hotel reminded me of my youth. I grew up in Asia, and my family spent lots of summer weeks and Christmases vacationing in Southeast Asia: Penang, Cameron Highlands,... More

While the decor is nice and the room (I booked a double for $45/night), that's about where the high points ended. No elevator and a 4rth floor room makes for a lot of stair climbing in hot, un-airconditioned public spaces. The bathroom also lacks air conditioning. The power cuts off when you leave the room, which might be acceptable if... More

We stayed here recently and were impressed initially by the hotel's decor and seemingly helpful staff. This was only slightly diminished by the uncomfortable bed and the construction noise outside. However, this changed fast when my (incredibly important) hypothyroid medication was stolen from our mini bar fridge by the hotel's cleaning staff mid-way through. After confronting all staff about it... More

My friend and I stayed at this place in June 2015 for 3 nights. What struck us immediately was the immaculate French style in which the room and the hotel was furnished, which was done elegantly and beautifully. The beds were extremely comfortable, and I had an excellent sleep at the hotel. The hotel is also conveniently located, a five... More

Stayed here for 3 nights recently on my first trip to Vientiane. Location is good, a walking distance or short tuk-tuk ride from most places and a short walk from the river and the pop-up night time restaurants. As other reviewers have mentioned, the beds are super-comfortable. The staff were a little casual but never rude. Breakfast good - yoghurt, fruit,... More

Such a beautiful, clean, relaxing hotel from the moment you walk in. The staff are very kind, the bar / breakfast area is cozy, and the rooms are very clean. What more can you ask for in the heat and dust of Vientiane. The hotel is located literally 2 minutes walking distance from the Mekong River and the night markets,... More
