Stayed 2 nights after staying 5 nights last year. Airport transfers are reliable and check in worked well for us. Breakfast has improved this year compared with last. Rooms clean and well appointed (free bottled water and coffee / tea making facilities). Seem to be refurbishing rooms one by one and the allocation seems random. Central location with a number... more

(A bit outdated hotel, size of rooms OK, but bed and toilet certainly not to normal standards, airco broke down, swimmingpool and sauna not functioning presumably due to electricity shortage/cuts. Breakfast delivered to room due to refurbishing (quality below standards). Reception during day quite good as was security (24 Hours). Reception at night not very professional, issues with credit card... more

Silk Road Lodge is situated in a quiet area not far from Bishkek's main street. It is a tall building beginning to show need for maintenance but very clean throughout. Our room was large and comfortable but rather strangely shaped. Reception staff are helpful and have excellent English. Security appeared to be good. Restaurant serves good meals (English a bit... more

We stayed here for two nights and were given the suite - after a week's solid travelling we were glad to use the iron, and as a friend was in a single room, we were happy to take our beers and sit comfortably after a long day. This hotel doesn't have funky furnishings but it was clean, we had hot... more

I only stayed here for about six hours before flying on to Jalalabat. We arrived at 5AM, and the gentleman at the front desk was very sweet and welcoming. He also tolerated our road-weariness/punchiness quite well. We took an oldish Soviet-esque elevator up to our rooms. The room was full of stuff, but a little threadbare. There was an iron... more

I am so glad I chose this place for my first trip to Bishkek. It's walking distance (two blocks away) to great restaurants (Italian, Turkish, Chinese), 2 department stores (Tsum and the Beta store), the National Museum, pleasant parks, the main squares, etc. Yet it's on a quiet side street, so no street noise. The fellow in the business center... more

If you're not prepared to pay rates at Hyatt, then this is a good alternative option. Rooms were a good size and clean, albeit with 1970's furniture. Be prepared to walk quite a way or catch a taxi to get to restaurants/bars but that seems to be the case with most hotels in Bishkek. Try to get a room away... more

I stay here every time I come to Bishkek. The staff is very accommodating, hotel is clean, no frills, just quiet and acommodating. Great for business travel. Looks like more people are finding out about it and it's getting harder and harder to book a room, but it's well worth it. Location is a bit out of the way, which... more

Stayed in this hotel booked through a French horse riding travel agency, and had a good suprise when arriving late at night after a long flight, and also at the end of the riding trip 2 weeks later. For the country, this hotel is really above average. The lobby is clean and welcoming, there is an elevator, and the stairs... more

Fans of 1970s Russian style bedsits will feel at home here! The room decor and over furnishing by an eager to please management gave us a weird experience in this centrally situated hotel. We were upgraded to a deluxe double bedroom, rack rate $105. Deluxe reflected the quantity rather than the quality of what was on offer. Sadly, there was... more
