Our room was booked through a tour operator so we are not sure whether all the problems with the hotel were due to them or the hotel itself. We were in a small room at the back with little natural light, though it was clean and decorated in a simple modern way. We were supposed to have a better room... More

The General Manager is from Tadjikistan, not from France, and her English is usually well accepted by the guests. The staff, as the great majority of the Cambodians, are usually friendly with all the guests. I am sorry that this was a bad experience... As for the rooms, the cheapest double rooms, starting at 40 USD net/night, are not the... More

The Pavilion hotel is a nice place to stay in Phnom Penh. The location is ideal, close to the Royal Palace and the river, but far enough from the noise and mayhem of the guesthouse/hotel river district to be peaceful and relaxing. There's always a tuk-tuk outside the hotel to get you anywhere you need quickly and cheaply, and the... More

Everything everyone has written is correct, there is not a lot more I can add, loved the room and the free internet available in our room was a bonus. I only had one complaint, the weather was too cold to use our private pool! Can't really blame the Pavillion for that.....

Booked the Pavilion based upon the Trip Advisor and NY Times reviews, but came away pretty disappointed, I think my expectations were too high. In any other city, I think the Pavilion would be considered a notch above budget and had a bit of a backpacker feel about it, but at $85/night. Pros: Beautiful grounds Beautiful main pool and main... Putting only 20 rooms in a historical villa, on gardens of over 2,000 sqm, with a main pool and 4 private pools, right back of the Royal Palace does cost.... But one can find many places at much cheaper price (without garden or pool but very nice rooms) on the river front. Depending on what one is looking for. About... More

We stayed at The Pavilion for over a month in late September. There really isn't anything new that I can add, only to reinforce that this is truly a special place in Phnom Penh. After a busy day in the noise and bustle of the city, we would walk through the little door in the high wall on Street 19... More

The Pavillion is well located in the city of Phnom Penh. Close to the Royal Palace and the riverside with plenty of restaurants. It has a beautiful garden were u can escape the rush of the city. However, 1 detail. We've booked in march the private jacuzzi room for 2 nights and again for 1 night. Our holiday was in... More

I have talked to the General Manager as soon as I saw this review. The request was indeed for 3 nights in the Jacuzzi bungalow (in two different stays). The front desk made a mistake and booked 3 nights in the garden bungalow instead and, as we were full, it was not possible to get the Jacuzzi bungalow for neither... More

What a great little place - I booked it after a less than satisfying night in a crummy room at the Villa Langka. Pavilion is within a high-walled garden with massive palm fronds and lots of other greenery surrounding a pool with loungers all about and a great little bar that has really good food - you can walk out... There seems to be persistent problems using the shower. We try to give an explanation to every new guest as they check in at the reception. The solar water heating system being located on the roof, it takes about a minute for the hot water to reach (which is actually quite long when waiting inside the shower). As for the... More

The Pavilion is a lovely hotel and such a tranquil spot away from the bustle of Phnom Penh but also within walking distance of many of the major sites. The rooms are nicely decorated and of a good size and the pool and gardens are excellent. The hotel also has free internet and there is a resturant bar area for... More

We were so delighted with the Pavilion, after 13 hard days of traveling in Vietnam, that we ditched our plans to see Phnom Penh and spent our entire day and evening lazing out at the hotel. The garden around the central pool is beautiful, and provides a wonderful atmosphere for relaxation. The "dread" solar-heated shower was more than comfy -... More

This property certainly deserves the good reviews it repeatedly gets. Have just returned from Cambodia and we spent 3 nights here in one of the private pool rooms. The pool isn't really big enough to swim properly in but it was fairy hot and humid during our stay so it was great to be able to jump in and cool... More
