I have booked a River Star Hotel because of its location in Riverside. I was wrong. The hotel is new but needs a good renovation. The rooms and bathrooms also. Maintenance is not good. Not clean.Dirty stains on the floor corridors and lifts. On the positive side of this hotel are location and friendly staff, but it can not cover... More

I changed to this hotel because my previous hotel's internet was not working. The wifi speed was pretty fast. about 3mb down and 3mb up. Check hotelwifitest.com for the latest speeds. The location is great, you don't need to take tuk tuks. Lots to do walking distance from hotel. All the bars and restaurants you need. The rooms are big... More

My family and I recently spent 3 nights at the River Star Hotel and this was my 4th visit. The hotel has been recently remodeled and it is better than it was. The rooms are large, clean and was maintained. It is an ideal location across from the promenade and walking distance to the royal buildings.

I spent three nights here in February. The hotel facilities are modern and kept in good condition. My room was spacious and well kept. Food is good, the situation ideal, the lift is a bonus and most of the staff efficient and friendly. My only gripe is that a member of the reception staff recommended a fictious hotel in Siem... There are a lot of hotels on river side or they say sisowat quay in Phnom pen. among tens of mini boutique hotels recently opened in the are, I am sure the hotel should be proud of one of the most comfortable one. Spotless clean, recently renovated interiors have sufficiently enough to beat the precedent comments in several travelers written... More

As we have been travelling in Cambodia quite a few times we were happy when River Star opened, as budget travellers. The location is brilliant and, if you get a front facing room, great views. I agree with some of the previous comments: you have to set your expectations based on the price you pay. Bugs are part of a... More

I was going to go average just on the view, but the management needs replacing. This hotel could be so much better with a little bit of money spent on it. Pros. In a great position, great views of the river, didn't see any rats. Cons. Nothing seems clean, even in a New Room as the manager put it many... More

I despair sometimes. What do some people expect?? This is a cheap hotel, in a poor country. You get what you pay for, and bugs are part of a tropical climate. And as for the rats, the Hilton hotel in London employs a full time rat catcher as there are so many there. I have stayed at river star 3... More
