We've booked rooms by their email address with a quick answer. The staff is friendly and speaks well English. We've had a room the first time without window with a/c and private bathroom. It was clean but a bit smelly. The second time was a room with window, it was clean with a really strong smell of cigarets and we've... More

No Muscle-bound Rodents Scurrying About I’ve done a whole bunch of international traveling in the last 30 years. Usually I gravitate towards budget accommodations. What the heck, when traveling I don’t hang out in a room gazing upon the room’s fancy décor, I’m out and about, checking out the sights. Soaking up a little culture. Usually a comfy bed, a... More

I foolishly checked into the $4 room with fan and no windows, number 220. Within 30 minutes I was being bitten by bed bugs. I managed to kill two to photograph and show the management. I was offered another room but insisted on a refund, which was resentfully honoured. I left at midnight with no apology to find somewhere else... More

Cheap and cheerful. If a room with no windows but clean and cheap is your thing then this is perfect. Centrally located above the Capital buses to Snookyville and beyond. They have just refurbished the café downstairs but it now looks more tacky. Good meeting point however.

Capitol Guesthouse, Cafe, and Tour Bus Company are big and in a very interesting, crowded, run-down part of town just a block from a very busy large local market called Orussey Market. It's not in the touristy area but there are tons of tuk-tuks and it's right next to a street that sells used bicycles. So you could buy a... More

I cannot say a word about the guesthouse, but the food they offer is good, take some asisan food not european(why on earth would you), and cheap. They also have a recommandable tour office. We have booked the bus tickets to Siem Reap there and they offer a wide range of other tours! So you can get all in all... More

Before starting our trip, I did make a reservation via internet but I didn't receive any reply :'( So when I was in Siem Reap, already bought a local mobile card, I called there and successfully booked a double room with fans and bathroom which costs 6$ per night. The room is spacious, also has a closet and table, but... More

I would recommend getting a room with a bathroom as the shared bathrooms are very small, and often not very clean. The staff are friendly enough. The location is alright for seeing the sights of phnom penh but if i was going back to the city i would stay somewhere else as there are not many restaurants/bars close by.

the room we got was bare, but spacious and functional. lack of "warmth" in the decor was a bit off-putting (the walls had ceramic tiles; it felt a bit like sleeping in a bathroom), but staff was very professional and booking went smoothly. all the amenities were in working order. outside noise (eg road sounds) might be a problem if... After Thai border-crossing took a bus from Poipet to Phnom Penh and this journey was like never ending. It took nearly 10 hours from Poipet to PP. I was travelling alone and met 3 other solo travellers on the bus. We arrived at PP around 00:30 AM and it was too late to look around. A bunch of motorbike guys... More
