I was spending a few days in Phnom Penh for work and really enjoyed my stay in the Golden Gate Hotel. The room is nothing exceptional but for 20$ you have air conditionner, free wifi, free laundry service and the breakfast is included. The staff is also very friendly and can advise you or arrange for you anything you need... More

Hotel was OK but not much of a location though. Some good restaurants nearby as well as a decent temple. Phnom Pehn night market Ok but not as nice as many I have been to. Breakfast was decent especially if it was included in your room rate.

This is a simple hotel with a friendly staff. Since it's a budget hotel, do not expect more than what it offers: clean linens, daily housekeeping service, daily laundry service, a refrigerator, TV, and air conditioning. It's a great deal for the money. If you stay in the annex, you'll need to climb stairs (no elevator in that building), but... More

My spouse first stayed at the Golden Gate while doing a Habitat for Humanity build in Phnom Penh, in the Summer of 2014 and knew it was a good place to stay, so we booked three days there this March, We were not disappointed. The rooms are basic, but clean, and the air conditioning works well, and for $30 per... More

The Golden Gate is in BKK neighborhood, where there are lots of great restaurants and shops, just minutes from the Royal Palace and the riverside. The neighborhood itself is lovely, but the hotel is just so-so. Staff are indeed friendly and helpful, with excellent English. The restaurant has a great breakfast and free, same-day return laundry services. However, if your... More

Very helpful staff, many speak English. Good value. Clean. Breakfast, both western and Khmer available. Has secure deposit facility and they will look after your extra bags while you tour if you are returning for one night or more. Great location with lots of good restaurants and bars nearby. Safe area to be in.

For $28 per night for a twin room we were happy with the quality of the place. Pros: clean rooms, hot water, free laundry (with same day return), walking distance to independence monument & royal palace & staff were friendly. Cons: included breakfast was fairly average but there was a range of food available, some noise in the corridors, our... More

I have stayed here many times because it is so good. It is well located and the staff are nice. But this time wi-fi has been hopeless for five days, and nothing real has been done about it. So I may not be able to stay here again.
