I have stayed here prior to this time ; all aspects were excellent ( value quality /stylish/ good SUPPORTIVE BED ). On this occasion , the room allotted, must to my shock and dismay ,comprised of a worn-out piece of foam , softer than a banana smoothie , softer than a slug . The facilities ( except for the long... I should have known when i walked in to look for a room. the receptionist never looked up from her phone while handing a key.The rooms were quite all right though not amazing for 15$ so we came back later. When the wifi password on all floors didn't work -except for the hot, loud lobby-nobody at the reception including the... More

DO NOT book the mini bus to Sihanoukville for this hotel! If you value your life don't do it. It was the fastest and scariest experience of my life. The big busses are much better as they can't drive as fast. Down side is the drive takes longer but you arrive alive Other than that the hotel was great. Not... More

This place was not so cheap for us, 13 USD for a small room with a fan, and have just been told breakfast is not included, unlike everyone else it seems. They were adamant that they never include breakfast, despite then relenting and saying they did, but not for rooms with a fan, which seems somewhat ridiculous as it is... More

Phnom Penh is a noisy city but this hotel is at a pretty quiet but convenient location. It's not near the tourists' central but easy to access the Genocide Museum and many good restaurants nearby. Some of their staff speak very limited English and I was a bit frustrated. Unlike many other hotels in Phnom Penh, this hotel doesn't have... More

Really enjoyed our stay here. We stayed for a total of 8 nights! The room was very clean, as was the bathroom. We had an excellent room with a flash balcony! Good value for money- double was 15usd per night. Nice breakfasts downstairs. Good aircon!

The "Smiley" was my home for 7 days while I waited for a Thai visa back in 2011. I felt like a king, having this big double bed, TV and aircon for 10 USD at the time. I was in a third floor, right in the corner, with windows looking everywhere. My bed was made two times per day, the... More

Loved our stay at Smiley's. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Owned by a Cambodian family, so we had to be a bit patient with the language barrier, but what else would you expect? :) They were helpful with arranging tuk tuks to local places and buses to other places in the country. Room was spotless -- very clean. Simple,... More

The Smiley Hotel is very nice - in the middle of Phnom Penh. Yes, it is not near the river - but i liked it for beeing a bit "next to the main drag" where it is a bit more quiet - but still has a lot of options for Restaurants around. The Staff is really friendly and helpful and... More
