Reservation with them was forward. Nevertheless upon my late arrival (not very friendly frontdesk, either) I found my 18$ room to be unclean and could not get the hot water to work. When ordering at their cafe they ask for payment straight away - don't trust their customers? There must be better value places in Phnom Penh.

The balconies are nice, and often the only place you can get internet outside of the reception. We had slow or non-existent wifi, especially in the evenings and at night. The cafe is pretty good, and they often give guests a free drink coupon at some point during their stay. Beds were comfortable and sheets were clean (in our experience).... More

For a guest house that is primed to recieve tourists as the top pick in the lonely planet book this place does not live up to its good name at all. We headed here at 10pm having gotten off the worst bus journey of all time (tip: fly from Siem Reap to Phnom Penh the roads are non existent) we... More

We booked a room here based on the Lonely Planet review that presented it as a good choice of the many cheap guesthouses in Phnom Pehn, but this place didn`t live up to the expectations at all. We arrived late, and the man who greeted us seemed bored and uninterested, and urged us to pay before we even saw the... More

At $16 we thought the room was expensive for what we got: musty sheets, dirty floors and bored staff. We asked for cleaner sheets and the woman ummed and ahhhed before agreeing to change them. It's yet another place just coasting along because it's in the Lonely Planet. We moved on the following morning to OK Guesthouse next door which... More

Me and my boyfriend arrived at Lazy Gecko late one night arriving from Phnom Penh. They had one room left which for €9 with a shared bathroom. The room was on the ground floor (room 14) which at first impressions immaculate and had a soft double bed with tv and fan. We did discover that the toilet we shared opposite... More

I spent two nights here, and enjoyed the stay. The room I had was functional and good value. It was also close to a balcony on the 2nd floor which overlooks a street. The staff were very friendly/helpful

We stumbled upon the Lazy Gecko because other places on the street were full, it had okay reviews and we loved the central location. $16 a night split four ways with an ensuite is pretty budget. But the place was pretty run down, dirty, had stained sheets and towels and was generally not clean feeling. Staff were disinterested and not... More

We had a double room with bathroom and air con for 14USD (strangely enough our friend who was alone had to pay 16 USD dollars for a twin room). The room had a window on to the street and a window on to the corridor. When we were in the room we kept the curtains closed because otherwise anyone could... More

This place was overall the best we stayed in Phnom Penh (if you consider the other two were quite bad..); now I found the location quite good: it is a good 10 min walk from the Royal Palace but the area is quite and looks safe, the street were the guesthouse is quite nice, full of other guesthouses, restaurants and...
