I've stayed at the Pacific Garnet twice in the past five years. Both times I've found the rooms to be clean, the staff helpful and the location ideal. It's near the American and Canadian clubs, several embassies, and a pleasant park with a small lake, where you'll find some of Dhaka's only joggers. The price was reasonable then, but I'm not sure of the cost now. I'd say it's worth US$50, but not much more. The included continental breakfast is fine -- coffee or tea, juice, fruit, toast --but I wouldn't recommend taking other meals there. The Gulshan area of Dhaka has plenty of decent Thai, Chinese, and even Italian restaurants that are better for lunch and dinner. more
