My first impression with this guesthouse was great, I arrived at 11am, wasn't supposed to be able to check in but my room was ready. After a 12 hour train ride, that was a huge help. The guesthouse was run by a family and locals who live in the neighbourhood, which made it incredibly an incredibly friendly place to stay.... More

We arrived in the rain on a bus from Hoi An and by the time we arrived at the guesthouse we were soaked but the hosts were amazing. Immediately greeting us by name, getting us checked in, welcome drinks given to us and then helping us with our stuff to the room so we could shower. The shower was really... More

This place had to have a review because it was awesome! The family who run it are some of nicest people I've come across; always smiling and willing to help out with any of your needs. The room was lovely, very clean with a nice balcony and the location was good as well - walking distance to the citadel and... More

After arriving in the morning from an overnight bus, we had a warm welcome. We were allowed to check in as soon as we arrived despite it being very early in the morning. After a sit down and fresh mulberry juice we were shown to our large clean room with 3 single beds and ensuite bathroom. All very clean and... More

Good little rooms with balconies in an alleyway just near the River and main backpackers area with bars and restaurants. Great value for $. It felt very homely. Run by a lovely family always willing to help. They even took our bags to the car in the pouring rain and made sure we had umbrellas. They can organise tours/scooter hire/airport... More

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 3 nights and it was excellent. The family who run this guesthouse are amazing and will go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable. They made sure we had everything we needed, provided excellent maps of the area, and were able to book a tour to the DMZ. On the... More

We stayed at Phong Lan guesthouse for three nights in a double room with balcony. The room was big enough and clean, and so was the bathroom. The staff was very friendly and spoke good english. The location is perfect, in a small quiet "hem" just off the main road. Not our best stay in Vietnam, but highly recommended if... More

Good situated - close to train station ( by taxi 20.000 VND) and Imperial city. Really clean and big room, nice dining area. But the best were the hosts! They were really friendly and helpful. Moreover, they spoke english pretty well. Sometimes it had even homestay character. But you never felt pushed to attend something.

I struggle to see what people write such gleaming reviews about. Yes it was clean and comfortable, which is to be expected I suppose. The food was not great but not bad either. I would happily stay here again but also nothing to write home about. The view from our room was nice. But that's it really.

Definitely the best place we stayed in Vietnam. The family that run the hotel are so sweet, and really looked after us during our 3 nights with them. Tree helped us book a river boat tour and also a day trip to some hot springs. Breakfast was delicious each morning with Omelettes, fresh (still warm) baguettes, 6(!) home made jams,... More
