Recommended to me by family member who last stayed there in 2011. Staff courteous, especially in the dining room where we had a lovely breakfast. Top floor pool area really good with bar and food available. Room was ok but bath did not have sealant around it. We had cockroach problem in bathroom on both nights....2 found each night plus... it disappointed the last time I stayed, so I waited for a few years before trying again. Sad to say, no improvement. The rooms are getting really shabby and the bathrooms are really really bad. Nothing quite closes and you will be scalded or frozen in the shower - no in-between. The pool is excellent - good length and very... More

The only good point is the pool, but in poor indoor room, old, and so cold water and atmosphere. Everything is quite old, style and maintenance, but clean. Good location and very rare in Saigon: quiet and not noisy area! Right beside japanese discrict with many bars and restaurants and 300m from center. Bit expensive for a low 3 stars... More

Great hotel, a bit fancier than I had expected. Large roof top pool with bar, awesome buffet breaky. It was right in the centre of District One so we were able to walk almost everywhere. The staff were great and helped us book our tours for the few days we were there. The room was very clean and spacious, it... More

We used Hi Chi Minh City as a base for our recent Vietnam trip, and the May Hotel was an excellent choice for our 4 stays (in 2.5 weeks). The staff helped arrange airport pickups, tours, taxis, luggage storage, and advice. The pool was spacious enough for serious lap swimming, with meticulously maintained water quality, done without excessive chlorine. The... More

Nice location in the business district. Breakfast was good and breakfast staff friendly and good service. Rooms look very old fashioned. We asked to change as no water pressure in ours. We had stayed in a much cheaper hotel in the cheaper area with a fantastic shower so I was not about to put up with that. It felt like... More

Will start off by saying most of the staff are all extremely friendly, attentive and helpful. However, a few things let the hotel down in our opinion. Every time we have gone to use the pool there has been swimming lessons in it. I understand this is a regular occurrence in the area, however, when you are paying for a... More

This was our second stay. bath plug did not work, hanging for a bath and absolutely no problems to change room for us. Staff very polite and respectful. visited the Saigon skydeck and ben thanh markets, all with 15 minutes walk. Buffet breakfast has a good variety and is inclusive. We met friends at the restaurant last night, menu and style... More

A well located Hotel not far from restaurants and sights. Very helpful staff. Nice buffet breakfast. Good sized air conditioned rooms. Nice enough bathroom. Swimming pool on the roof was nice although they do let locals use it for swimming lessons which can be annoying. Rooms on higher floors have reasonable view. Matresses on the firmer side but okay. Would... More

The May Hotel We stayed in this Hotel for three nights on our last few days in Vietnam. By this point in our trip we had done all the culture, all the sites etc of the North all the way to the Mekong Delta. On arrival to Ho Chi Minh itself the vibe was slightly more western but with a... More
