The Hotel was located near the Ben Thanh Market which is 1km away from the hotel where you can do all your shopping. The hotel room was actually petite but the facilities was good for the price that we pay :) and the morning breakfast was also good. they also arrange daily tours at the reception so you longer need... more

I just used the hotel as a transit hotel twice. The rooms were nice and the staff was helpful especially when I arrived late at night and left early in the morning. Location gives you a good feel of how the locals live with all the busy small alleys. You'll get your exercise going out anywhere. For a longer stay,... more

Small reasonably neat Hotel 15-20 minutes walk from the tourist district. you get what you pay for. My wife and I had no complaints at all with sevice or the food at the breakfast table. It was noisy because it is situated opposite a school which house up to 500 students all on scooters twice a day. If you want... more

We stayed at this hotel while touring South-East Asia with an Intrepid Tour. This hotel has seen better days! The room was dark and smelled of smoke, small and pokey, bathroom yuk-drain blocked, but manager did nothing.Came back to hotel at 4.00 in the afternoon to find that room was still not made up-housekeeping staff ignored me and only made the bed after 2nd complaint... more

This hotel is not really close to anything (except there is a handy supermarket down the road). It was a long walk or a taxi to get to the tourist sites. Our room was fine but very small, barely fitting the bed. It was clean though and sufficent for us. The bed was very hard (like most the hotels in... more

Very very Noisy. Could not agree more with previous review about loud speaker at 5:30am. Sounds like we need to run to a bunker. Rooms are very small but clean. Bed is like a rock. Breakfast is very basic but passable. more

Whilst it takes a day or so to familiarise yourself with the nearby streets, the hotel location is actually not that bad. Ben Thanh Market, the Reunification Palace, Museum and most other major sights are all within walking distance (15 minutes to Ben Thanh). Staff, whilst friendly need to get their priorities straight. We were waiting five minutes to be... more

We ended up in Saigon during the Tet holiday by accident - our travel agent failed to tell us it goes for 3 weeks! We couldn't get in to the better central hotels for under $300 per night, so the helpful travel agency inside the Hanoi Airport booked us in to the Empress in a Jr. Suite for $85. We... more

This hotel is very noisy, especially on Monday mornings when the loudspeaker from the school opposite starts up very early. I would definitely not advise anyone to stay here on a Sunday night, unless you like being woken up by deafening noise at 6am! The rooms were OK but pretty small, and the location isn't great - it's some way... more

not badly located if your into computer software, other wise boring, all of the rooms get street noise and there are no lifts if you are on the 6th floor as i was for 3 days its a long steep climb to and from your room, the staff are friendly and helpful more
