THis hotel has a small rooftop pool for when the madness of Saigon gets too much for you. It wasnt the cheapest place to stay, but felt luxurious in the surroundings. The staff were fantastic, couldnt do enough for you. It was only a 5 minute walk over the road into the backpacker area with loads of bars and restaurants. more

Location: The hotel is close to a 3 way junction, so it is surrounded by 2 main roads. In front of the hotel is a service station. In order to go anywhere, you will have to cross the main road. There is a traffic light, which helps tourist cross the road since part of the traffic will stop at the... more

We have been to Saigon several times, always staying 5 star. However, as we have discovered this hotel, we shall be here in future. Our room was very clean, airconditioning excellent and the buffet breakfast had many options for us (vegetarians). We ate at the groundfloor restaurant several times and nothing was a trouble for the staff. The hotel's position... more

The key to this property is shopping the room rate! Hotels.com has been offer a rate 50% off the published and at that price this is a real bagain for the amenities and the service received. This is no "backpaker Hotel" but neither is it the Ritz-Carlton! The staff is fantastic--very friendly, willing to help and very patiant. The breakfast... more

The main plus of the Metropole is its swimming pool – very pleasant after a day of hot sticky sightseeing. The location is OK as it is easy to walk to the frenetic back-packer area on Pham Nhu Lao, but it is better to get a taxi to central city. Like the other government-run hotel we stayed in, the room... more

It is difficult to review this one as I have mixed reviews on the hotel. The reviews on TA are all very positive about the hotel so I decided to give it a try. I booked via emailing the hotel, a Deluxe room with complimentary 1 way transfer and breakfast. When I got out of the airport the driver was... more

Well first you have to realize I travel for both business and pleasure, with very different budgets for both. This hotel pleasantly surprised me. It was very close to the back-packer area, but offered added features that wouldn't be available at the less expensive options. The pool area was quite nice but the "gym" needs some work. Injured my hand... more

We stayed three nights at the Metropole Saigon as part of our extended family 2-week holiday to Vietnam to celebrate my mother's birthday. We were a group of 14 made up of 8 adults and 6 children (ranging in age from 4 to 12). This was part of our holiday that was booked by South Pacific Travel (great company) and... more
