Lovely hotel, great location, nice staff, but we were ripped off by the hotel porter hailing us a Tourist Taxi instead of a meter taxi, which charged us double normal rate and did not know where to go despite repeatedly telling us he did until he admitted being lost. I will never use a grey tourist taxi again.

We stayed at the Grand Hotel for 3 nights in June. Our first night we really only just arrived had a drink at the bar and went to bed. We were being picked up early the next morning to do an overnight trip to the Mekong Delta. Our room was on the 1st floor right at the front of the... More

I have stayed at the Grand Hotel three times, the first time in the mid-1990s before its first renovation. I've enjoyed it every time, but particularly on my recent visit. The location, on Dong Khoi street is extremely central and convenient. The hotel has a small, but very nice swimming pool in an internal courtyard. The staff is efficient and... More

Think old world luxury - this place has it all!! Travelled with another couple and stayed in the Grand suite - 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom plus sitting area. From the foyer entrance to our suite it was amazing. Would happily spend a week there chilling out. Pool was lovely - although sign sounds like you have pay to use, its... More

We have just spent three nights in Saigon at the Grand Hotel. We chose to stay in the old wing which is a 1935 French Colonial building. The rooms are large and well furnished having been renovated in the last year or so. We had a room directly opposite the pool, which is of a good size and well shaded.... More

Stayed at the Grand once in December 2009 and again in January 2010. Try the old wing for the more colonial style. It was very clean and friendly. We had a standard room for the first stay. Very straight forward and nothing amazing. Everything worked well. Second time we had a suite in the old wing which was fantastic. Super... More

We stayed there twice during our trip. As the hotel was overbooked, we got an upgrading from deluxe room to a grand suite - very lovely indeed. The old part of the hotel still got the air of the "old days" which we enjoyed very much. The breakfast had a very good assortment of different styles of food. The staff... More

Having stayed at the Grand Hotel Saigon on two separate occasions in the last 10 days, I can say that there is definitely room for improvement in this hotel. The location is excellent and the rooms are fine, but certain members of the front desk staff seemed disinterested and unhelpful on more than one occasion, which is a shame as... More

This was a good hotel in a great location. We stayed in a spacious Delux room and had a view over the river. It was in the wing, but had a lot of old world charm to it. Well located to find western restaurants. We got the feeling they were trying very hard to be a 5 star hotel, but... More
