Although the hotel was not bad in some respects, there are construction sites on either side of the hotel and there is constant banging and drilling going on. We stayed in a superior suite in the old section (quite expensive) and the rooms are a good size with a nice atmosphere but the noise from the building sites meant that... more

It is a good hotel, except for the food, the restaurant is not good enough, andthe rooms are a little bit old. But it has a good location, and the service is good. It could a cheaper option in Saigon, but of course, there are better hotels... more

We only stayed one night. We had a lovely big room in the new wing with good views over the river. The bathroom was a bit dated but clean and serviceable. The staff members we dealt with were polite and helpful. Breakfast was good. The swimming pool was good but the corridors leading to it were a bit shabby. more

The Grand is a beautiful hotel in a very nice part of town. We paid the premium for a room in the old wing and were very pleasantly surprised when reception staff advised we'd been upgraded to a suite in the old wing. The rooms are big and well appointed. Service was efficient and helpful. Service and food at breakfast... more

I searched twice for hotels because my originally planned trip in January was put off. It was narrowed to the usual few suspects of the almost-updated old colonial style hotels. I have to say that USD$150 per night is still a lot for what they are. It's true that the Palace is right beside a noisy construction site, so ask... more

I checked in here on my first night knowing it would be a good place for my first night in Vietnam. The hotel didn't disappoint! Its a beautiful hotel - great location, nice architecture, very nice rooms, clean, great breakfast buffet - loved the pool which is a good thing in the heat. All that said, I though the price... more

We stayed at the Grand Hotel for 2 nights in March. We asked for a room in the old wing, by the pool. The hotel still retains its colonial charm and is in pretty good condition (clean, odourless), well located in Dong Khoi (the best area in town), close to all the good fancy hotels. The rooms are rather grim... more

We arrived in Saigon in the evening and were happy there was still a room available for us in "the Grand". We decided to take a room on the first floor, overlooking the very atmospheric swimmingpool in the courtyard of the hotel. The receptionists were extremely friendly to us, helping with any question. The room was spacious, very clean and... more

We stayed at the Grand for three non-successive nights and had double rooms in the new wing on all occasions. They were all great and pretty uniform. Cleanliness cannot be faulted, and the interior decoration is very nice (apart maybe from some of the paintings, but I suppose that really is a matter of personal taste...). Comfortable beds and impeccable... more

We stayed here in the old wing for 5 nights in February and liked it very much. The location is great, quiet and safe at night. Excellent A/C, lots of TV channels. Apparently our room had it's own hot water heater, it was hard to get a tub full of hot water, but no problem with 2 back to back... more
