Besides the great location, the hotel has a friendly staff, very welcoming; the room (twin deluxe) is clean and roomy with a very nice touch of Vietnamese furniture. At the breakfast buffet (included in the room price) there is a good selection of European and Asian foods. It is nice to be welcomed with a good morning smile when entering... More

The hotel, apart from excellent rooms and a great breakfast in the wonderful setting of the courtyard, is pure history from a time when Saigon was known as 'The Paris of the East': Graham Greene's room 214 is just one of those reasons.

Historical well located hotel with the potential to be the best address in HCMC. However couldn't sleep at night, Curtains are very thin and the street lights are bright; the noise inside the hotel is also a problem. But the disappointing part is very much the very low, by vietnamese standards, service quality. Reception staff are very haughty, and seemed... More

This is a beautiful hotel with impeccable service. My room, that was not the basic room was glorious. A few things i must mention though. I was very disappointed by the spa, my massage was very rough and basicly demanding a tip left a sour taste....this was the first time in Vietnam that a tip was expected...not good form. The... This hotel is in a great location but is tired and soulless, the corridors to the rooms put you off before you even get to your room, it is like walking through a huge characterless building. The reception staff were not that friendly, first time we had experienced abrupt, disinterested people in our 3 week trip. Breakfast was good and... More

We found this hotel quite by accident online, looking for a good deal in central Saigon, and were not at all disappointed by what we got. Yes, it may be 'faded glory' to those who want a glass and marble new-build, but for us the history of the Hotel was part of its attraction, and the furnishings well fitted this.... More

Hotel is easily the best location in Saigon, central from everything, we started in a junior suite which had a great view of the opera house. Checkin was smooth, we were explained everything, room size was big, we had two queen size beds in the room. We were able to get to all the attractions in Saigon in very short... More

Centrally located on District 1, comfortable and huge suites to have a relaxed stay. The hotel has his own history, more than 100 years, so if you are moved for that kind of things, that is your place. It has suites with street views (Opera building or to the street) with an open balcony, giving a chance at night to... More

I've stayed here many times and never cease to enjoy the atmosphere, sense of history, and the general quirkiness of the place. If you can get a room with a balcony overlooking the opera house you will feel part of something that happened in a city that is littered with everything that is good and bad about colonialism and the... We've stayed at this hotel twice now. The location is superb, opposite the Opera House and next door to the Park Hyatt (being refurbished). We love the fact that it is virtually unchanged although it has obviously lost some of it's former charm; it is 135 years old and run by the government. The history and location, the ginormous rooms... More
