at breakfast,a manager came to our table and took time to answer our questions.we enjoyed viet nam style food as well as western style foods.however late at night the sound from downstairs was so loud that we complained to the front desk and the sound wastoned down.

We booked this hotel as we like staying in old colonial places and are really not adverse to a bit of "genteel shabbiness". However, there is no excuse for poor customer service and indifferent staff. When I tried to order room service (for a diet coke) I was directed to use 3 different numbers and was actually hung up on... More

One of the first hotels in Saigon this is a lovely building with rooms over 3 floors. The room was very large with lovely high ceilings and the bathroom was clean and modern. We had all we needed including a great opera house view from our little Juliette balcony! Staff were helpful although some only had limited English, and the... More

There must be better than this. It has a great location in Saigon, but is very old and tired. Was built by the French around 1900 and I don't believe that they have remolded since. The rooms are quite generous in size but have single pane windows and you can hear all the noise all night long. They are building... More

This is Vietnam's very first hotel. The entrance hall and foyer are very splendid and colonial but the rooms don't quite live up to that. Whilst the bedroom was large and high celinged the bathroom was in need of some updating as it was very old and tired with cracked washbasin and toilet. Both my husband and I felt that... More

Really liked this hotel -- lovely, large hallways. Our room was large and roomy, with a divider separating a little seating area. It had very high ceilings which also added to a feeling of roominess. The buffet breakfast is quite sumptuous with lots to choose from, and there are lovely flowers on each table. Quite an elegant dining room. Good... More

Probably the worst hotel I've stayed in Saigon. I've been to the city numerous times and this hotel ranks first bottom up. Furnishings are dated, and most importantly the toilet is more fit for filming a horror movie rather than a 4* hotel room. Go choose a newly opened 3* star hotel near Ben Thanh: You'll get a better room... More

My Thai wife and I stayed twice at this hotel recently. We were totally satisfied with everything about the hotel from it's breakfast to it's reception procedures. While the hotel is old which is a given, it has not only a stately appearance but is 100% maintained. I felt as if i was experiencing some historical events when I walked... More

The hotel is the oldest in the city and is likely in the prime spot. Hotel has high ceilings and a very colonnial feel. Had a twin room with small beds and experienced a lot of noise from the Hyatt Hotel next door which had significant buildings work in progress. Bathroom did require some updating but room was pleasant and... More

Hotel is at one of the best locations in HCMC, in district 1. Right opposite opera, at walking distance from Banh Thanh market and Saigon square and many more must see locations of HCMC. I must say that breakfast options are good as well. Check in experience wasn't smooth. Being given a Twin beds despite clear booking instructions of a... More
