Yes this hotel is in a great location and has beautiful old world charm but the attention to good service is lacking. By the time we stayed here we had experienced 7 other hotels in vietnam of the same rating and this one was no where near the same standard. I don't usually complain but a room filled with smoke... It's the second time we stay at the Continental Saigon and we always enjoyed it. It's good value, old world charm and great location, although there's no pool. The staff is friendly too, particularly Mr Bui Van Quyen, the supervisor, who was very helpful. The only bémol is the lack of furniture to put toilet bags on in the bathroom. 2... More

The Hotel Continental Saigon is a very old Hotel in a great location, next to Opera. I had booked 3 days before the check in 2 nights and because of business I had to cancel my 1st night and they can't cancel because of the cancellation policy (3 days before the check-in they say) But I had book less than... This hotel more than met all my expectations. I read reviews but there is nothing like the experience of staying in a place like this. Yes its a bit pricy but what a grand stay. Everything about this place is on a grand scale from the time you arrive when the doorman opens the taxi door until you check out.... More

If you can get a good package deal , rather than the outrageous rack rates, this is not a bad a place to stay overall. The breakfast is a good balance of Western and Asian and the hotel has the perfect colonial feel to it. Health facilities , especially the gym is poor, but the front desk service was shocking... For some reason my company booked me in the Hotel Continental, opposite the Opera in Saigon. While I was initially excited to come here, due to the historic site, I very quickly understood that the good location and the history of the institution is as much as they have to offer. However, many other amenities that a contemporary traveler is... More

Great location, pleasant staff, very good breakfast (which was free with our room). Amazing big room and not too noisy for central Saigon. Some facilities dated They need a good partner hotel with a pool - all they could offer was a deal with Caravelle which was close but $25USD for use of pool - so not worth that. Don't... More

Booked a junior suite after scouring trip advisor reviews for a good (non western chain) hotel and this place just jumped out as a good choice. Very centrally located, near many attractions / shops / hotels. Our room overlooked the Opera House and had a balcony so that we could stand outside and people watch. The hotel is steeped in... More

The Hotel Continental is from the great Victorian age of hotel building, a contemporary of Raffles in Singapore and The Winter Palace in Luxor. Guests included Graham Greene, who wrote the Quiet American whilst staying at the hotel. Next to the Opera House, it occupies a central location, easy to get to the Central Market, the river and other attractions.From... More
