Booked a junior suite after scouring trip advisor reviews for a good (non western chain) hotel and this place just jumped out as a good choice. Very centrally located, near many attractions / shops / hotels. Our room overlooked the Opera House and had a balcony so that we could stand outside and people watch. The hotel is steeped in... More

The Hotel Continental is from the great Victorian age of hotel building, a contemporary of Raffles in Singapore and The Winter Palace in Luxor. Guests included Graham Greene, who wrote the Quiet American whilst staying at the hotel. Next to the Opera House, it occupies a central location, easy to get to the Central Market, the river and other attractions.From... More

Arrived on the 8th September for a 4 night stay in Saigon. The hotel is great for location with friendly staff who are very helpful. The hotel is very clean and close to all the different tourist attractions. The Ben Thanh market is only a 15 min walk from the hotel (take plenty bottles water as you will need it... More

On my last day in HCMC, we stopped by this hotel, which was an important stomping ground for reporters during the Vietnam War. They would get their official briefings on the roof of this hotel from US Army personnel. The Happy Hour was a well-known and welcome time of the day for these reporters who were covering the war. This... More

We loved this hotel: it had been refurbished, but hasn't lost it's old world charm. They seem to have retained the best of the old, with a very comfortable hotel in a great location. We walked to Notre Dame and the Reunification Palace, also shopping centres and the Opera House is next door. Best features - the smell of fresh... More

Very good old hotel, a little rundown, some refurbishing taking place, stayed right opposite the room Graham Greene supposedly wrote "The Quiet American". Service and staff excellent. Great location, next to everything: shopping, opera house, monuments, sightseeing, etc.

Fantastic location close to everything only here for a few days, the rooms are excellent and clean. A beautifully restored hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful, always a smile. A little chair for the balcony would be good other than that could not fault. Will stay here again.

The best thing about the hotel is the location, its very central, in the main tourist area. Walking distance to shopping places and historical buildings. Stayed for 5 nights. However the hotel reception staff is very rigid and not friendly though. Rooms have been kept in their original condition............ The housekeeping will strictly not give more than the 2 small... We only stayed a couple of nights at the Continental but it was a great place to stay. It's historical old building has stood the test of time. The staff are friendly and helpful and the location puts you in walking distance to bar, restaurants and shopping. It is in a busy location but really handy to everything you may... More

We stayed at the Continental because it was central and one of the original hotels in Saigon with history which seemed fitting for a first trip to Vietnam. The interior really has been kept as original as possible to the time of its Renaissance and the colonial style throughout the hotel is truly unique. Of course there are some small... More
