Tucked away down an alley, Mai Guest House is nice and quiet but only 50m from the main street where lots of travel agencies, bus stops and bars are so for us or was ideal as a base for a short stay in the city. Owners are friendly, rooms are clean and wifi works well. No complaints

We stayed 1 night stop over in this place. It was nice and clean quiet and friendly (but then we were with some other friends). Cheap and cheerful. Make sure you pack a little soap bar. The guest house itself was a little difficult to find as it was tucked down a little alleyway but in the central area of... More

We are a family with young kids so we normally spend a little more to stay in nicer places but for this trip, we wanted to save money in Ho Chi MInh to make up for the expensive resort we would be staying in later in Hoi An. We stayed three nights here. I had never stayed in a guest... More

Second time we've been there and weren't disappointed. It's not much but it's clean and very central. The owner is very friendly and the rest of the family too. It's a cheap place to stay if you are on a budget. The rooms are big. We had two double rooms for 8 people.

It took me 5 days to decide to book this little guesthouse in going to vietnam since will be needing a place to stay where our budget is fitted. Arriving at midnight in Ho chi minh and our taxi directed as to enter a small alley I got nervous since it is a small alley and not well lit. Reading... More

In the middle of everything, hidden in a small alleyway just off backpackers road. You can walk to all main sights of Saigon. Staff helpful with giving tips and advice when needed. I was in a budget room and it was slightly weary, walls could do with some re-painting. Not that it matters, not that you are going to do... More

We had, hands down, our worst guesthouse experience here in our five months of travel throughout Southeast Asia. The owners are extremely rude, and unfriendly. After reading good reviews online, we decided it would be a great place to stay in HCMC for the 3 nights we were there. We emailed with the owner, and he told us he reserved... More

We use booking.com to book a family room during newyear (tet) to be sure, but found later it was unneccesary. You can easily go to Mai Guest House without prebooking as there are plenty accom alternatives in the same alley if should be fully booked. We stayed their for 4 days for 24$/night right in center if everything. Could be... More

Shocked to be told when we arrived that they were full and could not accommodate us in spite of a "guaranteed" booking paid in full for 3 days and confirmed by Hotels.com The owner told us that he could accommodate us at his "cousin's" guest house instead as there was nothing else he could do. He also said that the... More
