Since I last reviewed this hotel it has been extensively redecorated, with a good paint job throughout, retiling, and refurnishing of the rooms. So now it looks like a new pin. Amazingly the prices haven't increased and you can still get a small room for US$18 or a larger room (the front ones with balconies) for US$20.

Lan Anh Hotel is in Ho Chi Minh City's District One, slap bang in the middle of the "back-packer" area. If you are on a budget but don't want to go as low as shared dormitory accommodation, this hotel offers the best deal you are going to find in HCMC. The furnishings are tired and worn, but the bedding is... More

I stayed at Lan Anh for one night, and although the room was average (bed wasn't too comfy, but it wasn't the worst I'd stayed in) and the service was alright, they gave my passport to the wrong person. I was supposed to get a bus at 8:30am but upon checking out they realised that they had given my passport... More

The place has all you need. Not luxury but definitely a great stay. For me what really made it was the service and the reception area. All the staff there were polite, willing to help and always cracking a joke. The front area also has a number of staff working there to book you trips to other places in Vietnam.... More

Can get your laundry done for $1 US a kg.,and offer $1 breakfast of coffee, baguette and egg or jam etc. Will do reasonable $ exchange. Good location in backpacker area, as 2 doors down from Sinh Tourist... More

The location is perfect in the tourist areas, just a walking distance to get all what you need. The room size is fine and clean. The bathroom is not perfect but it's ok. The hot water system is great. The bed is perfect and this is why we had to come back to this hotel again after our trip from... More

Me and three other volunteers shared one room here.We split the charge on four so it was very cheap. The room was clean and the people there were kind. There is a travel agency right across the street, we organized two trips there for our two day stay. There are also many restaurants to choose from on the same street.

The staff were very friendly and helpful and kept my bag at the hotel for a few days while I travelled to the Mekong Delta. The elevator was a great relief in the oppressive heat, as was the air conditioning and well-functioning shower. The room was basic, but that was all I wanted or needed. It was clean, safe and...
