Stayed on two seperate occasions in June 2012, each for a couple of nights. All the hotels are around $25 p/n on Ma May Street and having checked out a few of them this was good value. We stayed in a room to the front which looked out onto the street. There was some street noise in the day but... More

We arrived at 4.30am from Sapa where staff opened up and gave us an early check in ($10). This was needed as no one had slept the night before. The upgrade we received was excellent, although the bathroom could do with a shower curtain. When we left after a snooze at 10am we were kindly met by a lovely lady... More

A must stay if you are visiting Hanoi. I spent a week at Sunshine Suite Hotel. I really enjoyed my stay, the room and bathroom were spacious. Madam Nuong and the whole staff is friendly and helpful. I will be staying at this hotel again.

This is a brilliant little budget hotel right in the centre of Old Town Hanoi. It is spotless and very well run, the staff are exceptionally friendly, caring and helpful, and the rooms (especially those in the higher categories) are excellent value, with all the amenities you would expect from a much more expensive hotel: Aircon, PC with free internet,... I am a little sceptical of some reviews of this hotel (and others) who claim it is amazing and perfect etc. The hotel was basic, cheap and good location in the old quarter as I am sure many others are. Breakfast was average, beds I found to be hard but not bad for the price range really. Hotel transfer was... More

I chose to stay at La Citadelle as it was a good location and it did not disappoint. The rooms were both clean and comfortable, so you could get a good nights sleep. The staff were friendly and very helpful and willing to go the extra mile to help if needed. They even offered to have my shirts washed and... More

Every time I come back to Hanoi, I try to check what's new on the hotel scene and this time I decided to go for La Citadelle. It's a brand-new addition to the Old Quarter, so it's still spotless and really pleasantly run. My room was large and comfy and had all the amenities required, including air con. They have... More
