If one word to describe this hotel, that would be “wonderful”. I had a long trip to Indochina in May 09, MS Salute Hotel was my last and best accommodation. It was in the middle of Hanoi Old Quarter and right at the night market. Its’location is second to none. The so called deluxe room was not big but clean.... more

We stayed in the MS Salute hotel in June for a weekend visit in Hanoi. We paid around $100 a night for a 'suite', which meant we had a separate sofa space and two single beds in the second half. The beds were so uncomfortable it was almost funny. I slept with the spare two duvets under me to make... more

We stayed at Majestic Salute as part of our package through our flight agent. we decided to book the first and last nights of our stay to make sure we did not have to worry about hotels on these days. Not suprisingly our agent chose this hotel and it did cost about about $100. For the price this hotel is... more

On our first night at the Majestic Salute hotel in Hanoi’s old quarter we treated our poor weary jet lagged bodies to a delicious sounding body massage. We didn’t even have to travel far, 2 floors down in our slippers courtesy of our hotel. We walked in and I was a bit taken aback by a gaggle of tiny young... more

Our stay itself was fine, though not spectacular. The room was OK and area is evidently close/good. However, the service was the worst ever. We booked a trip to Ha Long bay with them. First, they managed to book us on the wrong trip, second the trip we were on was a disaster (they forgot us at the harbor and... more

Fantastic location right in the centre of Old Quarter, walking distance to the lake to watch the early morning locals exercising. Room average with a big pillar in middle of room (left toilet light on to ensure we didn't knock ourselves out). Staff very friendly and totally honest. more

If you want to be really in the thick of the old quarter of Hanoi, this hotel will suit you perfectly. You need only step out the front door (or back door) to be surrounded by motorbikes, pedlars, people cooking their meals on the street, shoe shiners, basket carriers ... The hotel is fairly old and the rooms show their... more

We were so disappointed with the Majestic Salute. Location can't be faulted - it's worth staying here to be in the heart of the old quarter, however we were disappointed with all other aspects of the hotel. Our room was very small, with a window that faced into a tiny courtyard and let in hardly any light. We could hear... more

We didn't expected a lot from this Hotel, but we were wrong. Really the rooms are not so big but were always spotless and our things where always left where we put them. (we use to leave sweets around and we never found any missing so in the end we left a good tip plus some of our local sweets)... more

this hotel is in a great location but the rooms are cramped, dark and dingy. Beware of the slippery floors in the bathroom which are awash after showering. This might be suitable accommodation for younger people on a budget but I would advise older people like me with a bit more money to spend to look elsewhere. The dining room... more
