We used this hotel as a base for our 2 weeks in northern vietnam. The rooms were big, very clean, free wifi, tv and cheap. The guys on reception were totally helpful booking buses, airport taxis, tours, changing money and storing luggage. Its in a good location - easy walk to the old quarter - but quiet at night. Genuinely... More

Arranged with hotel to pick us up at Noi Bai Airport. First initial impression of my hotel room: clean. They also provide tours to other places in Vietnam such as Ha Long Bay, Sapa, etc. You can just arrange with them when you arrive at the hotel. The hotel is close to the St. Jospeh Church. It is also a... More

We never found the original hotel we planned to stay in. After being scammed by a taxi from the airport we were dropped off at the old quarter having no idea where we were. We came into the Especen just to use their wifi to try find hotels and found out this hotel had amazing rooms at great prices. we... More

We booked a superior double room for 20$ a night and it was spacious, clean, air-conditioned, with hot water. The hotel offers other services : laundry, taxi from and to airport, even currency exchange! Everything was very reliable and rates reasonable. They gave us some good advice on visiting and a map! When we left for 3 days for Ha... More

We were here for 3 nights, and had a good stay. From this hotel you can easily walk to many attractions. If not the staff will help you with a reliable taxi. Hotel is clean, and you can buy breakfast there if you don't want to search for it. We stayed with 2 pre School Girls, and that was no... More

We really enjoyed our stay here. Great location in the old city but situated in a quiet alley. Staff friendly, helpfull and can speak English. Offer lots of local travel advice. They offer good reasonable priced breakfast. The room was clean and comfortable. The bed soft with crisp clean linen. The wi-fi was fast and reliable and the room had... More

Well, only the church part it you want to. Because the catholic 'cathedral' is just around the corner, and is itself worth a quick look around. Centrally located on the periphery of Old Town and in a quiet street, where bicycle laden fruit and vegetable vendors ply their trade. The hotel itself is well managed and the two key individuals... That's the hotel's catchphrase on their stationery, and it really was for us - myself and my 7 year old daughter, travelling in Asia for nine months. We planned to stay for four nights and ended up there for three weeks, nearly a month! We stayed in three of the four buildings and all the rooms we had were good... More

During my stay at the Especen hotel, I got very sick, and finaly I desided that I needed a doctor. The staff helped me all the way to a splended hospital, they helped me buy the nessesary subscribed medicine, and they took care of me during the hole stay. In addition, they booked tickets, arranged taxis, all I really asked... More

A small hotel that has basic amenities. It is located in an alley just beside St. Joseph Cathedral and within walking distance to the Old Quarter and places of attraction. The bathroom suffered from a black out once, which was easily resolved by turning the switch off and on again. The TV had one of the widest variety of channels,... More
