We stayed here twice and got 2 very different sized rooms. Location is good and you can easily walk to all parts of Hanoi. Breakfast was good with a relative wide selection. There are lots of inexpensive restaurants dotted around the area too - the French bakery has fantastic pain au chocolat.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 2 nights at the end of a cycling holiday in May. The hotel is centrally located for walking towards all the shops and sights of Hanoi and the staff are very friendly and eager to assist you. The rooms are large with a good bathroom, safety deposit box and mini fridge. There is... More

Wonderful hotel. We enjoyed our stay at this hotel because of several reasons: Beds were clean and comfortable, our room was charming and spacious, the breakfast was great, the staffs were attentive and friendly, we also like the location too, close to the old quarter but hide away from the crowded area. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

We stayed here for two nights in March. We were planning a few days in Hoi An and wanted to stay somewhere in town for a couple of nights and then move to somewhere closer to the beach for a couple of days. We got off to a bit of bad start - I had seen the pictures of the... More

We only had one night here - as part of or Intrepid Tour - prior to going to Halong Bay. The breakfast had enough variety to feed all in our group. My room faced the road - room 301 - which was a little noisy from 4am when the horns started again. As mentioned by other travellers showering can be... More

No soundproofing whatsoever so sleep quality is awful - especially the rooms facing the road but there is no double glazing and not much insulation between rooms. My shower head was held together by a plaster/band aid and squirted everywhere. It was dark and dingy and the beds depend on the room as I stayed in two. The worst part... More

Stopped here for several nights at the beginning of an Exodus tour of Vietnam. The hotel is situated on a quieter road near to the old town, althought you wouldn't think that on first arrival, the moped traffic in Hanoi is mental beyond belief! Rooms were well appointed with hard (normal for Vietnam) but comfortable beds. We had rooms on... More

We stayed at this hotel for the last night of a small group tour. Its an adequate hotel but there are better value places in Hanoi. The maids make a lot of noise in the hallways early in the morning and the rooms dont really have any sound proofing. The breakfast was okay.

We stayed for two nights as part of a small group tour. It is evident the hotel is frequently used for tour groups. We did not find this a problem. The rooms were large and comfortable. We were on the seventh floor and had no issues with traffic noise. The bathroom had a large spa bath. We did not use... More

To stay in Hanoi you have to get down and dirty in the streets. At the Thien Thai the staff are wonderful and welcoming and you are close to the action in the old quarter. The buffet breakfast was plentiful according to the time you have brekky, the main time of 7am - you had to watch your fingers, in... More
