We stayed in this hotel for several nights while we explored Hanoi. It is located just a few minutes walk from the Hoan Kiem lake and the old district. So a very good location. Staff in the hotel is very kind. English is so-so. They do only have one small elevator. Which is not enough for all the guests. Taking... More

This hotel is hidden amongst shops and when arriving didn't even realize we were there. Lovely welcome, with a map given to us and recommendations on where to go locally. Bar/restaurant staff were friendly and food was great. Our room was cute, clean and wonderfully furnished. Only negative was the aircon was a bit iffy BUT we loved the staff... More

Stayed here for 2 nights with a group tour. The hotel is hidden in-between twisty roads that all look the same from first glance. This hotel is located on "toy street", you wouldn't even know there was a hotel there. The location itself is not bad. Within a few minute walk to the river side, close to lots of shopping... More

After we returned from a three-day Ha Long Bay cruise, we were advised that we were being ‘upgraded’ to another hotel in the Rising Dragon chain. To be fair, this hotel is located in a better (less crowded, less traffic, quieter) street, closer to the lake. The bedroom and bed were larger... and the hotel environment quieter than the R... Stayed here as part of a tour. The hotel was nice and clean. Staff friendly. The rooms were small but adequate for 2 of us to share. Furniture nice and good working air con. The bathroom was a nice size with a bath and over bath shower. The shower was a bit crazy. Water went absolutely everywhere and there was... More

After going through customs, we arrived very late and found the front closed with the security door locked. The taxi driver was able to find someone. Despite our lateness, they were very friendly and helpful in getting checked in. Room was quiet, clean and bed nicely firm.

My friend and I stayed here on the 7th and 8th of December and we had a great time in Hanoi. It's a pretty full on place so it's nice to be able to come back to this hotel! The staff are terrific and the rooms were spotlessly clean. The Internet works all over and the free breakfast was great,... More

We were in Hanoi last week and needed one night after our trip to Ha Long Bay - we walked past and saw the special promotion on the door which lured us in - a lovely clean lobby (located right in the heart of the Old Quarter) super friendly English speaking staff - we looked at a superb room overlooking... We ended up here after being turned away by two consecutive hotels, neither of which had rooms for us despite having made a booking (apparently a bit of an issue in Hanoi). The second one - Calypso Grand - put us in a taxi to the Oriental and we agreed because we were tired of looking. We were first shown... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Inspired by the French protectorate, Hong Ngoc Annam is named after the central territory of Vietnam during the 19th century. Our boutique hotel is situated on ‘Hang Bac - Silver Street’- the busiest and the most famous old street in Hanoi. Dated from the 13th century, this place was famous as a silver ingot factory under the reign of King Le Thanh Tong. Nowadays, experienced craftsmen are still hand-making varieties of jewelry such as ear-rings, bracelets, rings, gold chains for the local market. ... more   less
