Stayed 3 nights at Bao Son Hotel when in town recently for a conference. The hotel is located on a busy street with lots of traffic and some shops/restaurants/cafes, but the neighborhood is more local in that very little caters to visitors. The hotel itself is comfortable and surprisingly clean. My room reminded me of an older 3-4 star hotel... More

This hotel is just average. It's location is not really close to any important landmark in particular, at least any that matter to me. Morning breakfast buffet is alright. The rooms, clean but nothing great or fancy. There is an interesting curio shop at the lobby. Wifi is bearable. In a separate building is supposed to be a pool. It... More

I spent a few days in the Bao Son hotel attending a meeting there in December 2012. The breakfast was fine and the other meals prepared for all of us attending the meeting were also fine without being really special. And the room was OK - a very standard business hotel room. The internet connection was fine in my room... More

I was transferred to this hotel when the original one I was staying had full bookings on the remainder of the days I was supposed to be in. This is normal in Viet Nam. The hotel by itself is okay. The receptionists know how to speak english and they answered all my questions. Internet was fairly fast and the room... More

I was probably unlucky as i experienced intermittent internet, i really needed to send out a few email as i have arrived late into Hanoi. the staff told me the IT guy will only be in next morning at 8am. Nuff said. Bed is hard too

Stay here if you are on a busy schedule and just need a place to sleep. Break fast spread is more asian and is just Basic. Lifts look risky but since it cannot be avoided just accepted. Has a decent pool - rooms are functional with occasional failures in the plumbing. Staff are friendly and the rooms are clean.

Hotel is self-ranked as 4-star. More like 2.5 to 3. The overall feel is that they stayed in a Hilton once and are trying to emulate it, but in the cheapest way possible. The building design is "1990 modern", but is in need of some updating. Looks worn. Thin bedding and towels. Hard mattress. No hot water some days. Power... More

bao son is located around 15 taxi minutes from the center. rooms are decent, staff is friendly though a bit slowl. unfortunately the internet connection was kind of poor and the "swimming pool" was covered and publicly accessible. for sure not the best address in hanoi.

The Baoson gives itself 4 stars (self rated) on the Wotif site. It would be closer to 2 - 3. Decore is getting shabby - threads hanging off chairs, skylights in the lift grubby. But the service was the difficulty for us. They were interested in selling us a private tour in their car, but not really assisting in other... More
