The absolutely best attraction here is the pool. It is large enough to swim laps. Also, breakfast was great, with pho a mainstay. The rooms were quite sterile and cold feeling, but I found them to be clean. Fairly noisy with neighbors in the back quite loud and army traffic very close. About two block away is the Hilton, which... More

We came to the hotel just for using the pool. There were sunbeds around the quite large and deep pool. A great place to relax and swim in Hanoi. We paid 90000 vietnamise dong to get in. Remember to bring your own towel! Possible to order food by the pool.

Imagine: your tourcompany has booked this hotel for you. One km away from the lively Hanoi scene at the end of a dead street. 50 m from army barracs and with two hores just 20 m from the entrance. You paid in advance about 60 UsD. The receptionist sees you coming but is talking in the telephone. She gives you... More

Last weekend I stayed at the Army Guest House in Hanoi. My room was large, very clean, comfortable and value for money. The cost included a very acceptable breakfast. Unfortunately it was a little too cool to use the swimming pool which is a good size and looked most inviting. The staff were both pleasant and helpful. Located behind the... More

We started off on our Vietnam holiday with this hotel. Good pool, good size family rooms - two bedrooms plus sitting. Breakfast ok. Staff average but not unfriendly. Get business card for taxis to find it as not every taxi driver knew where it was.

On arrival at the Army Hotel I was given a free upgrade to an executive suite which consisted of a huge lounge cum office with balcony and a large bedroom. The bathroom could have accommodated a football team... The main advantages of this hotel are that the rooms are spacious, it has a swimming pool and it's in a quiet... More

On arriving at this hotel it looks a little foreboding with the staff a little like talking to a government official very distant. On arriving at our room it was even worse dark and nothing homely about it. The walls badly needed a coat of paint or something to brighten it up. Unfortunately I needed to return to the hotel... I stayed twice in Army Hotel. The first time for four days in a worn down room with only neon light, no bed light and floor mouldy and smelling (3rd floor, A4 wing). Second time I had a great room, clean, cosy lights, nice bathroom (A5 wing, 4th floor).
