Checked into but did not sleep in this room. We left the tour to take the night train to Lao Cai (the weekend hilltown markets are not to be missed), returning to the room to shower on departure day. Very nice looking room. Good shower. Excellent breakfast. Free internet. more

We stayed in the Sunway as part of a Kuoni Vietnamese Discovery tour. The hotel was perfectly fine, breakfast good and staff friendly. The Sunway hotel was clean for Hanoi standards, and the rooms average to small. The rooms had triple glazing which mean they were well insulated from the outside road noise. The bathrooms are small and there are issues with the toilet flush. The location was slightly far from the city centre attractions (30 minutes walk). The bar was very overpriced... more

This hotel needs renovations quickly, the rooms are not clean, there is mold in the showers and dirty carpets, the rooms smell like smoke even the non smoking rooms. Also, there are not any restuarants for dinner close by, so I would suggest you spend the money to stay somewhere else like the Sofitel Metropole. more

Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else in Hanoi. The rooms are tiny and run down. The air conditioning was not working and after six attempts to have it repaired, I gave up. This hotel is very ordinary. The rooms are small but OK as are the bathrooms. The breakfast wasn't any more than adequate, and although the location is within walking distance of the center of the city, you need to take a taxi to go anywhere decent to eat at night. more

stayed at the Sunway as part of a small group tour(Travel Indochina). A perfectly adequate hotel with friendly and accomodating staff.
