We stayed in the Sunway as part of a Kuoni Vietnamese Discovery tour. The hotel was perfectly fine, breakfast good and staff friendly. The only downside is the location which is a bit too far from the city centre (although not expensive by taxi). If the price is similar, I'd choose to stay more centrally as the city is so... more

The Sunway hotel was clean for Hanoi standards, and the rooms average to small. The rooms had triple glazing which mean they were well insulated from the outside road noise. The bathrooms are small and there are issues with the toilet flush. The location was slightly far from the city centre attractions (30 minutes walk). The bar was very overpriced... more

This hotel needs renovations quickly, the rooms are not clean, there is mold in the showers and dirty carpets, the rooms smell like smoke even the non smoking rooms. Also, there are not any restuarants for dinner close by, so I would suggest you spend the money to stay somewhere else like the Sofitel Metropole. more

Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else in Hanoi. The rooms are tiny and run down. The air conditioning was not working and after six attempts to have it repaired, I gave up. We were on group travel and everyone experienced the same problem. Construction of new building next door is loud during the day. The location is removed... more

This hotel is very ordinary. The rooms are small but OK as are the bathrooms. The breakfast wasn't any more than adequate, and although the location is within walking distance of the center of the city, you need to take a taxi to go anywhere decent to eat at night. more

stayed at the Sunway as part of a small group tour(Travel Indochina). A perfectly adequate hotel with friendly and accomodating staff. Rooms not as large as some in Vietnam but very good by continental standards. Not a long walk to major areas of interest. Breakfast good. would recommend for the tourist. Mason, sydney more

Hotel facilities are fine but reception staff can be unhelpful. This is not just the language problem but also the lack of basic knowledge of the job. My suggestion would be: if you are not sure what the customers are saying, ask them until you understand what they want and learn from it! Doormen stand around chatting and looking very... more

We stayed here for three nights. Comfortable hotel, nice and clean. Food in the restaurant is OK, and the food in the bar was fine as well, if you just want a snack, breakfast not too bad. Nice little gift shop on the ground floor, good quality items for a reasonable price. The gym is adequate. Taxis are based outside... more

My sister and I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights, and, although the hotel is pleasant and functional, it was disappointing as a 4 star hotel when compared to other 4 star hotels we had stayed at during our 9 day tour of Vietnam. The lobby area was cramped and had a distinct odour of heavy smoking. Our room... more
