I have stayed in Melia for 8 days, in an executive suit. The room was a great one, in comparison with the rooms in similar hotels in Europe. The hotel was very clean, and the service was on the top highest level. The rooms were cleaned tiwce a day, every day I was receiving a basket of fresh fruits (I... more

I stayed at the Melia for 3 nights on business. It's a good hotel about 10mins walk to the lake in the centre of town. It cost my sponsors about $165 per night for a room with Executive lounge access, which is pretty reasonable in my experience although I don't have anything to compare it with in Vietnam. The gym... more

I stayed 4 nights at this hotel, but one night break after the first 3 as I went to Halong Bay, leaving my luggage there (no problems at all). LOCATION: is quite central and convenient to walk to the old quarter & french quarter. This area is not so busy and crazy like old quarter and buildings are more modern.... more

I stayed in Melia for 2 nights during a conference. The main positive points about the hotel is about its location and the service. Very convenient location close (not walking distance) to the old quarter and with many restaurants in walking distance including the very good " Quan An Ngon". The staff in the reception was very efficient and they... more

I was advised that this was the second best hotel in Hanoi after the Sofitel, for half the price. Well, the half the price part was accurate, but for that still very high rate we go little hard beds in an ugly pink room, with television that didn't always work. Although it wasn't horrifying, for the price it should have... more

Princess Anne of England and members of the Brunei royal family have lodged in this slick, 22-story hotel. There's a heliport on its roof, so guests can arrive in style, and the hotel has the largest ballroom in Vietnam (with a capacity of 1,200). The Art Deco rooms are large and pleasant, with luxurious bathrooms, minibars, and satellite TV. The... more

I stayed in the Melia Hotel in Hanoi recently on a quick business trip to Vietnam. Our business partners booked us into the Melia and we sure weren’t disappointed! Amazing, high-quality hotel. Well located 10 minutes walk away from Hoan Kiem lake and the historic French quarter, the main tourist area. Tons of shops and restaurants around. Check-in and check-out... more

In Hanoi you don't always get what you pay for (DVDs that don't work when you get home!) but if you want a well run hotel, with professional and friendly staff and all the mod-cons, close to the old town then I would recommend the Melia. Yes you can find cheaper but you will pay in other ways! Quiet rooms,... more

I stayed here on business for five days on my first trip to Hanoi. The staff were helpful and gave me a free upgrade to a suite on check-in. The room was enormous and non-smoking as requested, which is not always the case even when rooms are designated as such. The food was good, including the lunch buffets. The location... more
