we stayed there for 3 weeks in 2002 with small children. the staff were great. they are self-catering apartments, mainly for people staying 1-2 years in hanoi. It has a small supermarket and restaurant on-site. there is also a swimming pool and playground, and lots of room to walk. there were also lots of take-away leaflets if you don't want to cook, and delivery was prompt. there was a really nice Thai restaurant within walking distance.
the main disadvantage is that it is about 20 mins from the centre of Hanoi. Taxis were about $5 for the trip. There is also a free shuttle bus several times a day from the hotel to the most common sights, and we used this quite often.

it can be cut off from the hussle and bustle of the city, but can be a great base for small, active children, which can be difficult with just a hotel room. we tended to play in the playground, walk and swim in the mornings, and head into the city after lunch, to walk around and eat, before heading home in... more
