I am pleased to say that my first ever review for a hotel is for the Calypso. Upon arrival in Hanoi for the first time, our senses were assaulted by the madness of the city. However, the reception from Amy and the rest of the staff was just great. We were upgraded to a beautiful suite and honestly, the pictures... More

We are a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 children of 10 y.o) who spent 4 nights in Calypso Grand. We used it as a "base" to do excursions in Halong Bay and Sapa. The hotel was very clean and well kept. Breakfast outstanding. Amy (the manager) and the rest of the staff were very kind with us. They... More

My niece and I were at Calypso Grand Hotel In Hanoi for 4 nights/5 days in July, 2014. We were met with a smiling and helpful porter shortly after getting off our taxi and felt welcome right away by the reception staff. Very fortunate to have booked at this hotel. Amy and the staff were incredibly efficient, warm and caring;... More

Firstly a massive thank you to in particular Amy, Lucy and Rose, who were the most sincerely friendly and most helpful staff we've ever experienced. They treat you like royalty. From delivering tickets for the puppet show to the restaurant we were at to making me a packed lunch for the airport as I'd missed breakfast. In fact, all staff... More

All the staff of this hotel is extremely helpful and friendly in all aspects. Their english is very much ok and they arranged whatever we requested. Our room was spacious and clean . The breakfast was excellent. The location in the old quarter is perfect. With respect to price-quality hard to imagine a better hotel in Hanoi. Highly recommandable.

What a little gem this place is in the heart of busy Hanoi. We found everything in the glowing TripAdvisor reviews to be true. From the warm welcome, the helpful information about Hanoi, the comfortable and well appointed rooms and the lovely breakfast. This all contributed to us having a wonderful stay. We arrived early in the morning, and were... More

Hotel is really nice and charming and it's located in a strategic position in the heart of the old quarter: very characteristic and suggestive. At the arrival we got an upgrade to the suite: our room was fantastic, clean and spacious. Staff was very nice and helpful and they speak very good English. They arranged everything we needed: a fantastic... More

The staff of this hotel is what sets it apart from the rest! Amy, Julie and all of the others attended to our every need and made sure that our stay at the hotel was faultless. We were given spacious rooms in the 3rd and 5th floor and it was clean and spotless. Breakfast was great and enough to get... More

Having been to Hanoi before, I have to surmise after this trip that Vietnam is filled with some of the most hospitable people in the planet. Calypso Grand dwells in a quiet corner of the Old Quarter and I accessed all areas on foot with no problems even in the heat. The hotel itself was comfortable though the bed could... More

We travelled with two young children, and stayed 4 nights in a family room. The room came with a double and single bed, full of light and sufficient place for all our luggage and for the kids to even kick a ball around. We had a room in front of the hotel and contrary to some reports, we did not... More
