Excellent location and value $60 us with breakfast. The room was superb, and beautifully decorated in a "French" style. Lovely beds, linen and pillows. Very pleasant and helpful staff. Breakfast : good service, standard fare but fresh and good enough to get you going.

We spent 3 nights in Hanoi although not consecutive. However, the staff always remembered us, welcomed us back and were keen to know how our travels were going. Happy to store our luggage, always available for advice or a chat. Rooms were well appointed and spacious (although sometimes slightly damp smelling). Doors have a tendency to bang shut (very loudly)... More

Situated near the lake and busy old town centre. The street outside is a nightmare, narrow and potholed but don't let that put you off. Rooms are refined and elegant. Safe in room. NO luggage rack which is very inconvenient and the bathroom lighting over basin poor but that is just the only negative. Front desk girls are a delight.... More

We stayed at the Gondola from July 11-15, 2012. We find the hotel very clean and the staff super helpful. We missed our flight back to Manila and the staff helped us arrange for a phone call to the airline's call center in Manila to rebook the trip. A staff member even let me use her cell phone and refused... More

We really enjoyed our stay at the Gondola. All the staff were terrific and even those without good English tried very hard. The location in the Old Quarter, not far from the lake, is unbeatable. You wonder about the place when you see the funny little street it's in, but that's Hanoi for you. We were particularly lucky to have... More

I was recommended this Hotel by a Vietnamese friend. Staff are delightful and helpful. Rooms are great, bathroom great and large. Only downside is no aircon in corridors and small hotel in old quarter very close to Lake but no pool and Hanoi is hot n steamy. Bar/restaurant on top floor, lovely ambience and great food at good prices. Ok,... More

In the old quarter so very close to the lake. It was booked through our tour company. The staff was fabulous! They have a roof top bar and the food is great.

Have recently stayed at this hotel with my partner and have no hesitations in recommending it to anyone else. It is very cosy and well decorated. The staff speak fluent English and are very professional. I love the personal touch and the staff are so friendly. Newly opened it is clean and the bedding is very comfortable., What most impressed... More

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. It is beautifully appointed and we found the location near the lake a perfect base for discoverying Hanoi. The beds are very comfortable and we found the staff to be really helpful, english is a bit of a problem but they really try hard to help. (eg, we asked for top sheets... More

The hotel, is situated a few minutes walk from the Hoan Kiem Lake and not too far away from the "Old Quarter" of the city. We managed to get an upgrade to one of the front rooms with a balcony, overlooking the street. The widows are doubled glassed no little or no noise from the street below. There is a... More
