This was out last hotel at the end of our Vietnam tour with Wendy Wu. Our room was at the back of the hotel so there was virtually no view, which really didnt matter as we were only in there to sleep. At least the traffic noise was minimal. The room was old but clean and had 2 single beds,... More

Hotel is located on the outskirts of the old town and has reasonably large well equipped rooms. The breakfast room is small and has limited choice, the wifi is extremely slow and erratic. The staff are helpful but every time you leave the hotel you have to run the gauntlet of the t shirt outside who won't take no for... More

It was first hand experience staying in a high rise column building 5 to 7 mts wide rising to 13 floors , you see them all over in Hanoi and some other places as well. Well located, good rooms compact with all supplies one would find in a 5 star hotel, comfortable beds pillows a bit hard but all good... More

Cannot agree more with the other reviews, okay for sleeping, we were on the 10th floor so away from traffic noise, yes one lift! So time your departure! The dining room on the 13th, indeed cosy , however our Tour leader made sure we had a slot when other groups have gone to have the place for ourselves (24 of... More

We stayed here as part of a Wendy Wu tour in March 2014. We stayed in an old room for the first couple of nights then a renovated room. Old room - small room but okay just for sleeping. - bathroom had white funky mould issues next to the toilet. - shower/bath was very difficult to get out of. Upon... More

Ideally located in the Old Quarters, where everything was just a few minutes away. The rooms were spacious and refreshing with sparkling bathrooms..............the only thing they could do is to have a bigger and a fancier Restaurant. Friendly staff and peaceful ambience. Worth a try.

We were a group of 6 adult tourists who had stayed 1 night at Demantoid Hotel 2 a day earlier before spending a night away at Halong Bay.We expressed our dissatisfaction as we had expected better facilities and conditions. However, we had a pleasant surprise upon our return stay when the hotel gave us a free upgrade to Demantoid Hotel.The... More

The guy who worked at the front desk the morning of August 4th cheated us. He asked if we needed to buy any presents and suggested that we buy banh com, which is a special cake from the North. He also suggested that we should buy 20. He said they charged 9 thousand dong each. We were in a hurry... More

I was very disappointed with this hotel. I was in a group tour of 14 people, and there was another group staying in this hotel too. The restaurant could not cope with that number of people at breakfast, not enough tables, and the food kept running out. There was only 1 lift in the building. The internet keyboards had paper... I stayed in this hotel 2 times, for my 1st and 3rd night of my 6d vacation in Vietnam where I join an arranged tour. At the first time arriving in Demantoid Hotel and seeing its tiny reception lobby, I told myself not to expect much of this hotel. Demantoid Hotel's building is narrow (but almost all buildings in Vietnam... More
