Very nice place overall, especially if you get the communal room by the pond. We felt uneasy about the tour-like programme directed by the staff. We'd have preferred something more hotel-like with optional activities to book. Moon garden had a bit of weird feeling about it. Also not much time to relax. We felt rushed. We like biking so we... We came as a group of 2 couples, having booked and paid for the two-roomed Mango House several months previously. On arrival, one couple was shown to the Mango House, and one couple to the much smaller Frangipani room. (Note : some of the photos on the website are not of the Frangipani room, but the superior rooms). When we... More

A two hour drive from Hanoi, long way to enjoy a quiet moment. It was worth it. Regrettably the weather was bad, had it been better it would have been magnificent. You are greeted by wonderfully fragrant smells in the rooms which are very tastefully decorated with what looked like antiques and beautiful carvings and paintings. It is a great... More

Came here for one night after a 3 day cruise in Ha Long Bay. The journey was very long as we where taken from Ha Long to Ha Noi and then to Moon Garden. Very long way round. But we got there and it was fantastic. We arrived just in time for dinner and it was a superb meal. Very... More

I came here for one night to experience the Northern countryside. It is like staying at someone's home with a lovely garden. My room was comfortable and private, beautifully furnished and very large. Service is not five star but is friendly and sincere. Breakfast is not much but the other food was very good, authentic and abundant. I walked early... More

Planning a homestay experience, this was selected by our local tour agency and it was a pleasurable and different experience well worth including on your itinerary as a 2-day agenda. I'm not so sure you would add more than the standard 2 days, 1-night as there isn't much more to do or see unless you wanted to cycle around the... More

To really get a feeling for small village rural life 2 hours west of Hanoi. The rooms are authentic Vietnamese wood houses carefully designed and decorated. Meals are wonderful. Highlights were walking to the village and playing pool with the villagers and the bike ride through the countryside to the ancient village. This is away from all the main tourist... More

what a lovely find, just outside Hanoi, but in the rural peaceful country. We could not fault this place. Our English speaking guide was knowledgeable, kind and offered to share his time with us to try to understand their way of life. We have to say that the food was outstanding, it's quality, presentation and we felt like we were... More

A truly exceptional place to stay. From arrival we had superb service and enjoyed all our activies. We arrived in time for a cooking lesson followed by the most fantastic lunch. A hand massage before a noon nap (true Vietnamese style). A biked ride through the villages was the afternoon activity which was enchanting. The whole stay continued in this... More

We had 2 days and one night here. The people are so friendly, and the area is beautiful. Totally different to what we expected and quite luxurious!! Our room was really big, and had so many little extras and artefacts, there was even some traditional Vietnamese outfits to try on!! After our cooking class we went for a bike ride... More
