I stayed at Van Mieu Hotel for three nights over two stays as part of a tour group. I therefore stayed in two different rooms. Both rooms were identical with very firm beds (which I like) - the sheets and pillow were clean and new. The shower was hot and the pressure was good. The rooms had a kettle and... More

Stayed in February as part of a tour. Staff at the front desk were unfriendly. We did not have breakfast there nor use any mini bar items however upon checkout they attempted to charge us for these items. We then had to sign a form stating we had not used them. Rooms were ok, though one of our towels was... More

The room looks absolutely nothing like the pictures. It is really run down and dirty. The beds are as hard as rock. The shower is dodgy. The walls are so thin that it's so loud and I can hear the people upstairs using the toilet. The people at the front desk can barely speak English we struggled to understand each... More

The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout my stay. The particular room I stayed in was quite small but clean and the shower was dodgy, however it did have a window which is a rare thing in Hanoi!! However the other rooms my friends stayed in were very spacious and pleasant, especially the rooms at the front of the... More

The nice and helpful staff and the excellent breakfast buffet make up for the other con's. For the cheapest rate we got a small room with the big disadvantage of having only a rather small window with only a tiny part of it openeable. Good part is that it was pretty quiet at all times. The other rooms seemed better.... More

Stayed for two nights in a twin room on an intrepid tour. It's only 10 mins from the train station, 5 mins to Temple of Literature and Fine Arts museum. Good spot if you don't want to stay in the old quarter which is quite hectic, and a 30 min walk to the lake & old quarter or $1.20 taxi.... More

Was here on an Intrepid tour, so no choice over the venue. Rooms were clean and a decent size, hot water available whenever needed and attentive front desk staff. Computers provided for internet access were a bit ropey, and it's a little bit of a walk to the main areas of interest, but apart from that pretty good.

Stayed here as part of an Intrepid tour for 2 nights in a twin room. If I'd had my choice of hotels it would have been in the old quarter, as this hotel is about 20 minutes walk away. The rooms are quite a bit more run down and tired looking from the photo, and my windows leaked a lot... More

Located close to the train station in a relatively quiet area this hotel was the last stop on my trip. It took some time to get to the tourist area but it wasn't bad. The shopping area was huge so unless you wanted to explore all of it (which i could not do in two days) it is close to... More

This place will suffice if you are looking for a clean, low price, basic accommodation. It is on a busy street near the Temple of Literature and within (longer) walking distance of the Lake and the old quarter. On the positive, no hot water problems, the air cond worked OK, the front desk service was good, the tile floor was... More
