This was our 1st time at Hanoi and we really enjoy our time at New Moon. It is 3 stars hotel however everything were good enough including the pricing. It takes only 5minutes to walk to Van Mieu – 1st University of Vietnam. 10 minutes by taxi to Ho chi minh Mausoleum – 1st Vietnamese President rest in peace, Hoan... More

We had an hour to wait for our train to Sapa so went across the road to try the restaurant at the new moon hotel. They didn't have the first thing we asked for so we asked for steamed chicken with lemon and ginger and combination fried rice. The rice came out first and tasted like the frozen rice I... More

20/1/2015 I have such a short time around 5-6 hours at Hanoi to wait for the night train to Sapa. Luckily, I booked a room at New Moon hotel while waiting the train. The hotel location is opposite the Hanoi station which is the most convenient place. I only need to cross the road so I can get on the... More

Similar to many reviewers, we were booked this hotel as part of a tour once arriving back from the train from Sapa (stay was about 3 hours long - from 5 to 8 am). The room itself looked ok, but there were what looked like cigarette burn holes in the bedding. My husband also killed a couple of small cockroaches... More

I can only second to what has already been posted. I was booked here by my travel agent prior to train trip to Sapa. As I entered the room it smelt of cigarette smoke, sheets were dirty and had holes on it. AC temperature is not controlled within the room. There is no hot water. Bathroom was clean. Toiletries and... More

The tour company booked us this hotel to rest before taking the train to Sapa. The hotel is just in front of the train station you can hear all the trains. The room was dirty and smelled like cigarette smoke. The people at reception were not very helpful as we asked for a supermarket or a place to eat and... More

Booked by our tour company between getting back from Halong Bay and going to Sapa, conveniently located across from the train station. Room smelt of cigarette smoke. Our feet turned black walking in the floor. We had to ask for towels and got damp, very old and thin sorry excuses for towels. Asked if they had a restaurant recommendation, they... More

I don't understand what kind of people have rated this 'excellent' !?? It was disgusting. We arrived at 5am at Hanoi railway station and had our flight around 3pm. We were really tired from the night train and found this hotel across from the station. The idea was to sleep for a little while and go to the airport so... More

Our tour agent booked us this hotel before and after our trip to and from Sapa just to freshen up. It is very conveniently located across the train station. The rooms were dim and not well maintained though; the spring of one of the mattress was exposed. Towels were damp and we suspect they were not washed. Breakfast was just... More
