I stayed here for a few days. (I'm an English-speaking Vietnamese person. My family lives in the country, but I chose not to stay at their home to avoid having to do chores every day.) The place was extremely basic, but remember, this is also a budget hotel, and it served its purpose well. The sheets were clean, the rooms... More

My girlfriend and I stayed here for a night either side of our Halong Bay tour, and we were so pleased. We only paid $20 AUD for each night, the staff are so friendly and are always willing to help and offer suggestions, and the WiFi is pretty good too. The rooms are very spacious and the location is awesome.... More

We stayed here for just one night during a stop-over in Hanoi. It is a lovely hotel and for the budget price, you get more than what you bargain for. Our room was spacious, and clean and we even had our own computer with internet in the room! Our room did not have an outside window, but that did not... More

I stayed here last week just for one night. The service was friendly and great. The room was small and stuffy. However, it was clean. It was ideal for one night before I left Vietnam, but not sure I would stay for longer.

Great value room. Small but tidy, clean, good quality and good service to boot. we stayed on the third floor which was quiet enough. It was good to have access to wifi and to have a free breakfast on offer. Would stay there again.

The name change is a bit confusing, but the Charming Hotel is now called the Cheering Hotel. I stayed there for four nights during May 2015. Its location is in the centre of the old quarter of Hanoi. The staff were helpful and friendly, and they speak English. Rooms were clean and comfortable. I would recommend this hotel for anyone... More

The hotel itself is getting a bit tired and could do with some maintenance but it was clean and tidy. What made it fantastic was the staff, they were wonderful and helped us out with so many things, nothing was a bother. Try and book a room with a front window as it looks out over the alley way and... More

The Charming Hotel was our first stop in Vietnam and was fantastic value for money. The rooms were fairly basic as you would expect for the price however they were clean and comfortable and the showers were hot. The location was great - in the Old Quarter but down a quiet (for Hanoi standards) laneway and away from the worst... More

This hotel is located in a great little lane in the southwest corner of the Old Quarter, within walking distance of everything in central Hanoi. Our nicely sized double room was at the front, facing onto the lane, and was very clean and tidy. All the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, providing us with clear, unbiased information about everything... More

Service was good and the staff speak good English. Room was clean but note that some do not have city view (which we didn't mind). The hotel is located near a famous Bun Cha shop so do give it a try if you stay there.
