Yes, it's only rated three star, but consider1. continuous water leake onto bathroom floor, Dodgy electrical connection to hairdryer in wet bathroom, (the cord had been cut, rejoined and simply taped together), ill fitting door lock meant door could not be latched closed. room safe provided but not bolted to floor. Star View Hotel is a beautiful, place to stay in a great location, just on the edge of "the Old Quarter" it has large well appointed comfortable rooms, with a lovely resturant located on the top floor with a stunning view over Hanoi and West lake. I have stayed in several 5* hotels in Hanoi including InterContinental and Hilton, but I have only been friendly greeted when I entered the hotel at the Star View. We found the hotel to be very elegant. The lobby was quite impressive and the decor was wonderful. After looking at other hotels in the city during our trip we felt that we were staying in the nicest one.The staff was wonderful and very friendly. more

Staying in this hotel for 3nights in late May 2009 found that the Star View hotel are totally good. Room is clean, large, well decoration, quiet with too big window to see city view and lake view. Hotel staffs are sooo nice to accommodate all informations we requested, breakfast are full kind of foods as vietnamese food and western food.... more

I was disappointed with this hotel, the location is terrible and the staff weren't very nice. The lobby looks lovely as you walk in but the room was disappointing.
