Stayed at Hanoi Old Quarter hotel for 2 nights. When we first arrived our first impressions weren't great. Very dated and shabby looking lobby, bit of a strange smell too. Friendly English speaking staff though helped us check in. Our room was the same as downstairs - minus the smell luckily. Very old and in places a bit grubby. But... More

We decided to stay here due to the very positive Reviews on Tripadvisor. Here is how we see it afterwards: Positive: -The staff is friendly, that means especially a boy and girl that are there most of the time are very helpful. However one guy (he mostly suits up more) is naughty. We tried to avoid him if he was... More

Dear Tripadvisor and all value customers, Thank you very much for your cooperation and interested in our service. My name is Wall, I'm manager of Hanoi Old Quarter hotel. I would confirm that this review was not written by our customers. I suspect that this review was written by our competitor. I don't know how does this review meet Tripadvisor's... More

Great place with lovely staff. They provide a lot of info about the city and very happy to answer all the costumer questions. They let me leave my stuff in the hotel 3 days after I've check out. And the location is great also. I hope I managed to make 200 characters review as required by Trip Advisor;)

This hotel offers 5-star hospitality for a budget price in a lively part of the Old Quarter. We stayed there December 23, 24 and 27, 2014 before and after our short stay in Ha Long Bay. Wall, Steve, Cloud and their staff took excellent care of us (like family!) and arranged airport transfers, a city tour, a 2 day/1 night... More

The staff is very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this hotel for people that are first timers to vietnam, because it not only offers great value for very cheap rooms, but also the staff helps you with what you may need. They booked all of our trains and buses around vietnam, helped me getting a sim card for my... More

When my friends and I arrived at this hotel we were worried - the outside looks old and the hotel itself didn't feel overly welcoming. Luckily for us, we couldn't have been more wrong. The staff here are wonderful and always made us feel right at home. I especially loved the breakfast and the cups of tea made for us... More

This hotel lives up to its name. From the moment we entered this Hotel (4 am in the morning), until we left, we loved it. Staff were so friendly, helpful and welcoming and the hotel itself is both elegant and warm and cosy, particularly the breakfast area. Our bedroom and bathroom were immaculate, furniture was tasteful and the balcony view... More

we are a family of 5, with 3 children aged 5,8 and 10. We booked the family room which is absolutely huge, and has s great colonial feel. It's a room with high ceilings and a great atmosphere. It was perfect for us - a massive king bed and 2 king singles as well as a sitting lounge area. It's... More

Overall this place is a bargain at the $18/night price I paid for a double. I would certainly stay here again, and I can recommend it for larger groups/families. I don’t know what the negative reviewers are talking about, the place is not 'tired'. Maybe they are used to staying in 3-star hotels with perfect services, but I’ve been staying... More
