An otherworldly dream, step back into the 1920's (but with all the modern conveniences) ring for the boy to light the fire in your room (it gets chilly) visit the wine bar for a tasting. Admired the reproductions of famous paintings (a Vietnamese specialty.) The restaurant is 3 star the piano player plays Ravel, Debussy, waltzes. The flower arangements in... more

I had been to the Palace several times in the past 12 months for personal purposes (a quiet weekend with my wife, a golfing trip, an abseiling excursion, etc.) and most recently last week for a business trip, and had always been very pleased with the hotel. The hotel itself is old-world charm, spacious, clean, elegant, evoking the grandeur of... more

Do not stay in the standard room at the Novotel. We had a limited choice in Dalat and chose the Novotel because of it's reputation. We payed a very high rate compared to other hotels in Dalat. The room was extremely small and backed onto the local neighbour hood. Every nights dogs barked and howled. Early most mornings the local... more

We arrived on a wet, windy and dark October evening (just like the UK!). Entering the foyer to check-in the first impression was WOW! Have we come to the right hotel?!? It was like stepping back in time. It was the sort of hotel you would expect to arrive in having just got off the Orient Express. The whole hotel... more

This really was like a palace. We travelled to the region just to stay in the hotel and we were not disappointed in the least. Our room was huge with a balcony and even though the weather was bad there was plenty to do inside the hotel, even to occupy our small child, The food was of an extremely high... more

The Sofitel Dalat Palace is a remarkable hotel in several ways. Its sumptuous, classic French interior (complete with Edith Piaf piped into the lobby) makes one appreciate Vietnam's deeper history. However, it has terrific amenities, including a brand new gym, library, wine salon, billiards room, and spa. The wine salon was especially charming, and had an impressive selection of Old... more

Note that this is a top review, but it's not for a 5 star property. This hotel is not a modern luxury hotel with all contemporary amenities. E.g. there is no gym, no elevators (3 storey only), no AC (not needed), etc. But you get a very workable comfortable hotel which has more charm than anything else i have been... more

This hotel has been reviewed by other TripAdvisor contributors as being ,"A majestic colonial hotel." My wife and myself were less impressed. Overall the 5 star rating given to this hotel is difficult to understand. This is the Government of Vietnam's rating which is apparently not on par with international ratings. The only thing that was 5 star was the... more
