We traveled to Phuket and were fortunate to have chosen the best hotel in Phuket and possibly all of Thailand - The Amanpuri. Once you head thru the security gate you're transported to another world, a truly beautiful and relaxing world with exemplary 5 star service! The Pavillion Room that we reserved was amazing. The bedroom area was very large... more

This place is absolutely one of the most amazing places that I have ever stayed. Every year my aunt and uncle travel to Amanpuri for New Years and they have been going for about 10 years. Finally I was able to go and let me tell you, it was seriously unbelievable. NOTHING will ever compare to this resort. Here is... more

There were 120 guests, 3 restaurants, and 700 staff during our stay and you are paying for that roominess and exclusivity. After you pass the other hotels across the street from Surin beach, you make a left past one gate and then the Chedi, then another gate before you arrive at the Amanpuri. Initially, the staff seemed politely distant, but... more

Well, Amanpuri is a lovely and a must go place but I am afraid that The Aman group must, and I say must again, rethink what would/should be the target market for it. As an Aman Junkie and a frequent traveller I got the impression that the Amanpuri was not (or it is no longer) an Aman Hotel. Rooms are... more

We've just returned from two weeks in Thailand for our honeymoon and we began our stay at the Amanpuri in Phuket. From the minute we got off the plane and greeted by the car the hotel sent to pick us up (a BMW 740) it was just wonderful. The hotel, if you can even call it that, was just beautiful.... more

Having stayed at the Aman-i-kas in India I was really looking forward to the "original" Aman. Overall I was seriously disappointed. The rooms were attractive and well-maintained, but I definately felt like I was staying in something that was built in the 1970's (it appears that no fixtures have been replaced--small, black bathtubs and black tile in the bathrooms, old... more

You need to select your villla carefully. Som eof the Villas are definitely not worth the money, for example, they overlook the parking lot and ar a long walk from the beach. But, otherwise it is a great hotel. The alternative is the Banyan Tree where you can get a villa with a pool for the same price. more

We have stayed in some of the top rated hotels in the world and we are not easy to please. It took us 2 months of research to find the hotel we thought was right for us in Phuket, had stayed at the Oriental in Bangkok then the Four Seasons in Chaing Mai, both good hotels but this one blew... more

I usually don't write reviews but I use this site and I almost cancelled Amapuri because of the negative reviews. I am very glad I did not as we had a wonderful stay at the property. My husband and I tend to travel a lot and stay in 5 star resorts (Four Seasons Punta Mita, Le Sirenuse amongst others this... more
