We booked this resort because we had a lot of reward points. We stayed in one of the villas. The villa was beautifully decorated and had its own private plunge pool. The shower/bathtub was really spacious and almost the size of a jacuzzi. We had a beautiful view of the ocean. The amenities in the resort were excellent. There was... more

Coming from the industry myself I have high expectations and have a thorough understanding of how a luxury resort is supposed to be run. The first disappointment was the room we got. Even though it was obvious that the hotel did not run at full occupancy (due to the political situation at that time, due to the global situation and... more

We stayed here for the second time in april it was just as fab as the first time we came.We stayed in a garden view villa with a very welcome plunge pool. The staff are the best and the general manager Santiago was excellent ,a manager who would make sure the hotel was running smoothly and on speaking to staff they... more

Where to start...we had booked a Beach Villa what we did not regret at all. The location was perfect, quiet, surrounded by a "jungle", the "plunge pool" was much bigger as expected and so was the Villa itself. Nice living room area with relax chair, couch, TV and DVD, the bed room - which is moretheless an open connection was... more

Claire and I stayed in a beachfront villa for a week. We have been to Thailand many times before and stayed in the Evason on the island previously. We requested and were given Villa 107 because we wanted easy access to the ocean. The experience was perfect from being afforded the use of Spa facilities on our early arrival, the... more

Renaissance resort is located south from the busy Chaweng, about 15 minutes drive by taxi, what might be for some travelers a negative point. To go shopping or for a night out you will need to take a taxi as there is very little around. The hotel taxi will charge you THB 600 for a ride to Chaweng, so if... more

We stayed here for 3 nights in February and have mixed reviews. Although the staff was very friendly and helpful and the building and grounds very clean, it wasn't quite what we expected. I'm a Elite member with Marriott and they put us in a room right across from the elevator. They were more than happy to move us and... more

On the short flight from Singapore to Koh Samui, the thoughts of Krabi and Phuket came into my mind. Did I make a mistake to go to Koh Samui and re-experience the same sun, beach, islands, and other touristy stuff? Something that we enjoyed but has become all too familiar. In my haste to book a quick getaway (in less... more

Took the Rennaissance as the lesser of evils as it did not have a new years eve charge, which is a ripoff when your on a diet and have a 7 year old. We did get ripped off for overpriced food and internet and drinks. however not above anything you would expect, although 30 bucks for the internet is excessive... more

This hotel is very nice. The rooms are extremely large and nicely furnished. The pool and the beach are great as well as the food. My only complaint is that everything is extremely overpriced, especially the food. The hotel is located in between Lamai and Chaweng and requires a taxi ride to get there. The hotel does provide a shuttle... more
