My husband and I stayed here (now called Q Signature) for 10 nights, and I must admit that I was a little apprehensive as I had read some of the reviews. However, I can categorically state that, never once did I experience any rats, dirt etc. Obviously in a country with this sort of climate you do expect to see... more

Well simply put I thought it was great. Went with my girlfreind looking for somewhere peaceful (but not dead and full of OAP's) . The hotel itself is perfectly balanced, if you want to have total peace an quiet you can as it is located out of town so has beautiful views. But it is only 5 mins from main... more

i would not recommed this resort at all. We went for our honeymoon and spend quite a bit of money on the room. When we arrived there was no service given. Our inital room had mould and rust all over the shower. It was in general DIRTY! My husband went to the lobby and complained. This resulted in us getting... more

As a medical practitioner I would not recommend anyone to stay here without Rabies, Cholera, Typhoid and Bubonic Plague Vaccinations. Before I go into detail about the property the first night we arrived here I noticed that there were several rats in the vicinity of the villa. Indeed, the first sight I saw was a rat snacking on a cockroach.... more

With lots of varying reports I just want to add my opinion. My wife and I have stayed here four times and will be going again next year. We always have a pool villa (sharing a small infinity pool with two other villas) but this year we were upgraded to a Lotus Villa with its own pool. Although bigger than... more

Stayed here for 7 nights in July after spending 8 days at the wonderful Sheraton in Pattaya (a true 5 star hotel). Was hugely dissapointed with all aspects of the Sumadra (also known as the Peninsula). Mediocre and overpriced food, shabby furnishings in the rooms and restaurants / pool area. Pool deck was worn out and coming apart / rotting... more

hotel room was a disappointment. it looked good, no doubt, but it had a terrible bug problem. the bath tub was lined with dead flies (i might be exaggerating cos i really hate insects but you get it.. my friend had to wash the flies down with water). there was a dragonfly wing on the bed (UNDER THE SHEETS). from... more

We stayed here for 4 nights recently in a pool villa after having spent 5 nights at the Impiana in Chaweng Noi. I expected a bit more from this place with it being 5 star and all - the room was a tad filthy (the shower needed a very good clean), our air conditioner broke and we woke up to... more

It seems to be a common problem at this and other Quality Vacation Club (QVC) hotels. People are given a scratch card and told they have won a "dream vacation". Turns out it's in a 2 star dump. The Thai staff at The Samudra are very nice and well presented at all times. The rooms are ok, but it's a... more

We were roped into this place and showed around. The we took a salespitch from one of the many Quality Vacation Club (QVC)staff that were there. They told us all the wounderfull things about being a member. However, none of it was true as we found out when we went to book our next vacation, we got right royally screwed... more
