I arrived to Chiang Mai late on a Tuesday evening and was dropped off by Taphai Gate. I was going to just walk into a nice (expensive) looking place on the main road but some feeling I had led me down a nearby alley and I came across Montrara Happy House. It looked clean and peaceful, which are my two... More

Me and my boyfriend stayed here for three nights (only payed for two) and felt absolutely comfortable. The room was small, but cozy and if you don't want to spend the whole day in the hotel, it's a good choice. There were just two things to complain about the cleanness: they didn't refill enough toilet paper and the bedsheet had... More

You would expect a 3 star hotel to be at least as good as a Motel 6 but that was not the case. I got to my room on the third floor and when they opened the door, well I thought, how bad can it be. The walls were dirty, there were mosquitoes in the room because of the open... More

This hotel has a good location and the bed seemed clean. Free breakfast was a perk. The bathroom was strange- loose rocks bordering linoleum that looks likes rocks. The shower didn't have a curtain, just a big ledge that was awkward to step over. The bathroom smelled like sewer, honestly most of Thailand smells like sewer, but the bathroom just... More

Just 2 minutes walk outside the tha phae gate, situated on a very lovely quiet street. There are two bookshops across from here, a massage place, the money changer a few doors down gives the highest rates in all of Chiang Mai (you can even negotiate a higher rate if you're exchnager a lot of dollars at the one time).... First I would like to start off by saying the staff was so incredibly nice and hospitable. They were very helpful with directions and booking tours. The owner speaks perfect English and although the staff doesn't, they are very eager to help with whatever you need. The breakfast is decent and the location really was fantastic, right next to the... More

stayed here for about a week. One thing that sucks is that during the week, thia side of the road is pretty dark and quiet so walking home after dark feels unsafe. On friday night's there's a festival close by that sounds like gun shots! We almost called the police cuz nobody told us. On sundays there's a walking market... More

We loved our stay here for 3nights! The room was comfortable and clean and all you need really for a basic good nights sleep! The staff were so helpful and kept our bags safely at the hotel on two occasions when we went to Mae Rim and trekking overnight! Fantastic location just inside the main centre right next to Thapae... I thought this place was lovely, and a great price. It is a few min walk from taipai gate. The room was clean and cozy. Lower Floors may get some street noise, higher floors wont get wifi, so its swings and round about on that one. The staff are very helpful and very friendly and will do anything to help... More
