The place is pretty cool as it is like a tropical feel to it like lots of trees feels peaceful. There are lots of lizards and few spiders around probably from the trees. The price was not the cheapest for Thailand probably could have gotten better for the price There was a lizard and a few spiders in the room... More

I don't understand all the good reviews. Chiang mai is a cute, easy-to-navigate touristy type town which reminded me of Cuzco or Antigua. Why stay far away from the cuteness? This place seemed overpriced for what it was. If you want nature, go on a trek! I got bitten up by mosquitos here. They were kinda pushy on certain tours.... More

I stayed here for a week with my 2.5yr old. The room was lovely (and had mosquito nets and zapper if they managed to sneak in from the gardens), breakfast was diverse and delicious, and the staff were absolutely amazing. Its not advertised as a family hotel but the staff all made us feel beyond welcome and would play with... More

Had a lovely three day stay at Shewe Wana. Once you step inside the hotel compound, the heat and hustle of Chiang Mai seems very far away. The room was small but very comfortable with everything you need. The gardens, pathways, pools and fountains throughout the property were cool and relaxing after a day of sightseeing. The restaurant was terrific-... More

First and foremost, the spa was unbelieveable. The treatment was first-rate -- better than anything I've had in New York City. This experience alone would encourage me to recommend the hotel to friends and family traveling to Chiang Mai. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 was the inconsistent front-desk service. On the plus side, they made... More

This is one of the most pleasant, clean, quiet and friendly little places imaginable. But its sophisticated landscaping with an abundance of flowers, flowing water, and charming nooks and niches are what makes Shewewana truly memorable--a boutique resort my fiancee and I will return to again and again. Romance is in the air, and the terrific hotel staff makes it... More

I stayed here with my two daughters and had the best time. Very relaxing. The breakfasts were amazing and coffee from the coffee shop were really good. It is not within 'The Old City' but it can be easily reached by tuktuk or walking.

A beautiful surroundings. 2 pools and lovely breakfast. If the room had a bath then I would have 5 stars for the room. The hotel provide a shuttle to the night bazaar, but not for the way back. There is a 7/11 near by too.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for four nights at the start of August. We are currently coming to the end of our three weeks travelling around Thailand and I must say out of the 7 hotels that we have stayed in during our time here, Shewe Wana wins our vote for being the most individual and perfect little retreat!... Great place! Clean, pretty peaceful, great service, too breakfast. Only downside is that it's a bit out of the centerso you have to take a tuktuk every time (about 80 baht each way). Thehoteldoes offer free tuktuk service in the evening to the night market but we never used it cause it goes only once an hour. A part from... More
