I visited Chiang Mai for one night on my way to Thaton. I wanted a cheap hotel, close to the centre of the old city, markets food stalls and restaurants. I also wanted a swimming pool after a 12 hour bus trip from Korat. Top North met all my needs. It is an older hotel that has seen better days;... More

We went to Chiang Mai with our 2 kids and took a family room. I'm not usually picky nor writing reviews, but this hotel was really terrible. I don't mind an hotel being a bit old, but this one was just in an appalling condition. Air con too loud and too cold (couldn't put it up), filthy bathroom with the... More

Wish I could give it 2 1/2 stars - definitely below average, but I wouldn't quite rate it "poor". Maybe I'm being too nice. The positives are that the breakfast is decent as a part of the room price, free parking if you have a car (we did), and the pool is pleasant enough, if that's important to you. The... More

This hotel is very well located just inside the Old city. It's price is excellent. It is within walking distance from most of the sites that you would want to see in the old city as well as the sites towards the river. It is a big hotel with many rooms built around a swimming pool. Unfortunately this makes it... More

Hi all. I booked my room in advance asking for a quiet room facing Doi Suthep (if you're a light sleeper, it's the quiet side of the building). It was ok, but I wouldn't rate it as a 3-star hotel. My room was quiet and clean, but with a run down look. The bathroom smelled. It was clean, so I... More

I noticed a sign for buffet breakfast as I was walking past the Top North hotel. For 100 THb I guess it was acceptable but only just. There are many places catering for western breakfasts and mostly better than what was being served at Top North.

Not recommended, after swimming in the pool we all were itchy and came out with rashes. Moved after first night. Bathroom was in bad condition with filthy bath. Tiles around walkways extremely slippery when wet. Powerpoints didnt work. Bonus was Bed was comfy and massage shop was good.

This has been the second time for me at this hotel. just a step away from sunday market , 10 min walk to night bazar, clean room and large breakfast (only 100 THB also for people from outside the hotel). So to me it is a perfect compromise. Very close to the restaurant I love Aroon Rai.... and to local... More

We were visiting family in Chiang Mai so didn't have to spend a lot of time in hotel. The hotel is in a good location and from the outside it looks good. Our room was on the ground floor near swimming pool which was not a problem. The room itself was basic and in dire need of some refurbishment, but... More

We had to stay 1 night in a hotel at short notice while in Chiang Mai, so picked Top North due to excellent location. Most aspects of this hotel disappointed. However, the room we had was recently refurbished, clean, and with excellent air conditioning and cable TV. bed was hard as a rock, but most beds in Asia seem to... More
